  • E87 Dee Dee Dee and Dee Dee Dee and Ta-Da!

After a few non sequitur stories about noodles, raw veganism, and Red Lobster, Sarah settles into a monologue about Jesus Christ as an artist, and how Christians got it all backwards.  Self-help books claim to have the blue print and if you follow their program then "Dee Dee Dee and Dee Dee Dee and Ta-da!" You are a self actualized human.

  • E86 There's no such thing as Bad Timing

In writing circles we use prompts to get the pen going. In this episode we use a "Prompting" (that's Phil's elaboration on the term prompt.) It was written by Dalton Marshall, and is based on an idea articulated by Jordan Peterson.  The idea is:  Just because a symphony ends doesn't mean it was not beautiful.
Dalton's writing is spacious and thought provoking and we were grateful he shared it with us.  Thanks Dalton!
We liked this idea of using promptings so much that we may do it for a few weeks.  Send us a prompting at ownitslc@gmailcom.

  • E84 Synchronicity and the Polka Dot Car

Sarah is reading The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire by Deepak Chopra. Phil got picked up by a polka dot car in an elementary school parking lot.  In this episode they weave the two happenings together, showing how nothing is a coincedence, and synchronicity is everywhere.  IF you have eyes to see it and IF you know what your life is about.  They also talk about how archetypes and genetic prison help them know what to look for.

  • E83 The Graduates part 2: Van life

Recorded off the west coast in a van by the ocean, this podcast is the reflections of Sophie and Dalton on life and the recent death of their friend Mikayle.  About a year ago the three of them recorded episode #40 of Own It SLC called "Where is the God Damn Soy Sauce."  There is a distinct difference between that episode recorded in January, and this one.  Real time experience coupled with psychedelic chocolates has shown these two a lot, and their partnership throughout is cool to hear.  Accented by a camp stove, doors slamming and miscellaneous burps, you get to hear what it's like to be on the road.   With an in intro by Sarah and Phil, this podcast feels like sitting by the ocean and listening to the ebb and flow of life.

The two zoom with each other while Sarah is in Sanfa Fe at a Carolyn Myss workshop on empowerment. She describes her experience of meeting a “guru” in person and her experience feels breakthroughish to Phil. Phil goes on about  how heroes are just people who used to be on a pedestal and how now he feels equal to Michael Jordan.

  • E80 Harvey the Bus Sound Check

Pleasantly surprised how clean this episode sounds without any modifications to Harvey. If you haven't heard yet, he is the short bus we are turning into a mobile recording studio.  Kept it short & sweet this week at about 25 minutes of imagining how cool this bus is gonna be.
