  • EP010 Healthy Boundaries

Wow we're at episode ten and starting out the month defining the concept of boundaries, one of my favorite topics! Boundaries are the underpinning of empowerment, and healthy relationships are not possible without them.

In this episode I roll out the concept of healthy boundaries and why they are so important to self-confidence and healthy relationships. Since it such a huge topic with so many layers, we will spend the next two months breaking all of this down. So whether you think your boundaries are pretty healthy or you're not sure even where to begin – and anywhere in-between!) you'll find good things in this episode.

    • Identify what healthy boundaries are – and what they're not.
    • Look at the different areas of boundaries
    • Trace back to the origins of where healthy boundaries are formed.

Because, nurturing yourself is a huge part of feeling peaceful, grounded and empowered. Your environments and how they impact getting needs met is crucial to honoring yourself. In this episode I include experiential exercises to help you solidify the work – and take it with you!

    Key Elements

    · Defining self-care – It's Not just a spa day!

    · What taking responsibility for what you need looks like

    · Learning how to negotiate needs in a healthy way

You can't hate yourself happy. You can't criticize yourself thin,

  • EP008 How to Get Needs Met

We have two types of needs: tangible and intangible ones. Learning to identify, validate and express those needs in a healthy way to others is our main focus here. If we cannot do this naturally there are very good reasons for that – ones we explore in episodes six and seven. We talk about the need to apply the self-discipline to identify where we struggle and begin to practice being more emotionally honest. It is foundational to having a healthy relationship with ourselves and others.

Assess how well you can identify and ask for what you need.

Look at ways we will act out our unmet needs if we don't.

Learn to take healthy ownership of what you need in the moment.

  • EP 007 Unmet Needs and Why They Matter

Welcome to episode seven where we delve into the concept of unmet needs. Here we look at why some of our needs were not met and the impacts on our lives today. The earlier these experiences took place the more ingrained the disowning becomes, and disowning our needs is disowning our authentic self.

    Key Elements

    · Identify some of the insidious ways emotional needs go unmet

    · Explore why needs are a big part of owning the self.

    · Look at some of your origin stories around your own needs.

"A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is to be ultimately at peace with himself." – Abraham Maslow
