Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks in partnership with the Arkansas Department of Health is offering free drive-through COVID-19 testing to Arkansas veterans and their families, Saturday, June 27, from 7 to 11 a.m. The testing will take place in the parking garage at 1100 N. College Avenue.

As Arkansas surpassed 5,000 active cases of COVID-19, Governor Asa Hutchinson provided statistics regarding hospital capacity. In a 5-4 decision, the United States Supreme Court has blocked the Trump administration's attempt to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. DACA allows certain undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children and meet several guidelines the ability to stay in the country and work. Advocates at Arkansas United say it's a victory for the state's 4,500 DACA recipients, but there's still work to do.

After two cases of COVID-19 were detected in an inmate and staff member at the Benton County jail this weekend, the sheriff's office tested all its detainees and employees this week. Results show 164 inmates and 13 staff have the virus. Sheriff Shawn Holloway addressed the situation in a media conference Thursday.
