Today on the 5: News broke yesterday that the sixth season of What We Do In The Shadows will be the last. A lot of fans reacted to this announcement wiuth sadness, but in my opinion it might be the best thing that could happen to the show.

Today on the 5: Thanks to a pretty positive review in one of the recent Red Letter Media episodes, I followed up They Live By Night with something radically different. Today's review is for 2023's Aporia, a very well made movie about the ethics and fallout that can come from tampering with time.

Today on the 5: Once again the fantastic Criterion Channel has come through with an older film that I enjoyed immensely. They Live By Night was a recently added to a collection titled Holiday Noir, and while it certainly does feature Christmas as part of the story this is a movie that is great whenever you watch it. 

Today on the 5: Lando and I talked a bit about going back to Ghost Recon Breakpoint recently. Since i criticized Breakpoint not once, but twice when it origjnally came out I felt it was only fair to do an episode about how much better a game it is today.

Today on the 5: I've complained quite a bit over the years about Google, including pretty recently in regards to their "flagship" devices. I stand by all my complaints, but I also have to credit the company when they do something right, and the Pixel 8 Pro does feel like an improvement on the previous phone.

Today on the 5: You've likely seen news stories all over the place about layoffs in the podcasting space. These range from big companies that banked big money on premiere shows down to smaller networks that are struggling due to a constricting ad market. Anyone who has been paying attention to how this podcast boom came about probably isn't suprised by the bust, and in my mind two big factors are behind it.

Today on the 5: I read a post over on Aftermath about a game called The Exit 8. It sounded really interesting, and for only $4 I figured I'd give it a shot. I beat it in about an hour, but I'm still playing it because it's a simple and fun walking puzzle game. You can watch videos of me playing it right here!

Today on the 5: I wasn;tr planning to watch another bizarre low budget film so soon after Forbidden Zone, but I followed that film up with 1989's Dr. Caligari. It's just as weird, just with more color and fewer offensive elements!
