P3 Dystopia

Under hela mänsklighetens historia har vi bara blivit fler och fler – men inte längre.

Sedan 1800-talet har jordens befolkning ökat explosionsartat, det har gjort att många pratat om att jorden är överbefolkad. Men senaste decennierna pekar trenden mot att jordens befolkning snart kommer peaka och därefter minska. En positiv utveckling enligt vissa, men andra menar att konsekvenserna med färre människor på jorden är ett större hot än klimatförändringarna.

Historiskt är det svält, krig och sjukdomar som hållit nere jordens befolkning. Men nu beror det istället på att vi slutat föda barn. Vad är det som har hänt?

Vi går allt mer i terapi - men mår vi egentligen bättre?

Terapeuter är vår tids nya prästerskap. De finns överallt - i mottagningsrummen, morgonsofforna, TV-serierna och på sociala medier. Och inte nog med det - vi har också blivit experter på att agera terapeuter åt varandra.

Vi öser dessutom höga summor av både skattepengar och våra egna inkomster in i terapibranschen. Allt i hopp om att uppnå maximal psykisk hälsa.

Men det psykiska välmåendet verkar inte ha ökat i takt med att vi börjat fokusera allt mer på vårt inre. Tvärtom faktiskt. Hur kommer det sig egentligen? Och vilka blir konsekvenserna av en växande, oreglerad terapimarknad där vem som helst får kalla sig terapeut?

P3 Dystopia lägger sig på divanen och riktar blicken inåt.

Tack vare det här kan många människor äta sig mätta. Men den intensiva köttproduktionen får också stora konsekvenser. P3 Dystopia vänder på steken och dyker ner i en värld av sönderavlade kycklingar, resistenta bakterier, förstörda landskap och rapande kor.

I slutet av 1700-talet slog budskap om frihet, jämlikhet och sekularism rot i vår värld. Samhällena som växte fram ur upplysningen såg till vetenskapen och rationaliteten snarare än de religiösa skrifterna som länge väglett människorna. Och här i Sverige kan det idag kännas som att relationen mellan kyrka och stat är något förlegat som hör hemma i historieböckerna.

Men något har hänt i världen. De senaste åren har religionen gjort en politisk comeback och på fler och fler platser skärps konflikten mellan religiösa och sekulära krafter. Våras det för teokratin som statsskick? Varför överger människor demokratin för religiösa styren - och hur skulle religionen kunna ta över ett land som Sverige?

P3 Dystopia tar er från revolutionens Iran till maktens korridorer i Indien och USA, där idén om ett land styrt av Gud kanske inte är så långt borta som vi trott.

Spioner och agenter brukar förknippas med stormaktskampen mellan Sovjetunionen och USA under Kalla kriget. Men begäret efter hemlig information om andra stater försvann inte när muren föll och idag, när spänningarna mellan världens länder ökar igen, växer underrättelsehotet - även mot Sverige.

Få yrken är väl lika mytomspunna som spionens. Inte så konstigt, med tanke på att grundpremissen för arbetet är att verka i hemlighet. P3 Dystopia gör ett försök att bringa lite klarhet till den här dunkla världen, som har väldigt lite gemensamt med Hollywood-rullar á la James Bond. Verklighetens spioner är sällan glamourösa, sportbilsåkande actionhjältar utan, till synes, helt vanliga medborgare. De kan finnas precis vart som helst. Kanske just på din arbetsplats eller i ditt trapphus.

I slutet av förra seklet förändrades modeindustrin för alltid. Några företag utformade en modell för billig, blixtsnabb massproduktion av kläder som fick unga, identitetssökande konsumenter att flockas i butikerna. Fast fashion var fött, och sedan dess har klädproduktionen växt till det dubbla.

Idag genomgår branschen ytterligare en revolution. Nya, helt online-baserade aktörer har, genom en kombination av pricksäker marknadsföring och extremt låga priser, kommit att dominera den globala klädmarknaden. Glöm idén om säsongsstyrda klädkollektioner några gånger per år; numera släpps tusentals nya modeller varje dag.

Men vem betalar det verkliga priset för de här billiga, lågkvalitativa plaggen, som i stort sett betraktas som engångsprodukter?

P3 Dystopia åker ut på en lång resa - från bomullsfält i Kina, via textilfabriker i Bangladesh och giftiga soptippar i Västafrika, till beroendeframkallande shoppingappar och ända in i det mänskliga psyket.

Snart blir hon indragen i en farlig värld av offerceremonier, maktkamp och plötslig passion med sektens kronprins Jerker. I takt med att Emma möter sitt förflutna, väcks misstanken om sektens roll i hennes brors mystiska död.

Arvet är en ljuddramaserie i fem delar och kretsar kring vår längtan efter samhörighet och vad vi är villiga att offra för att få tillhöra en gemenskap. I rollerna hörs skådespelare som Sara Shirpey, Alexandra Rapaport och Adam Pålsson.

Klimatkrisen förvärras för varje år som går och den stora boven i dramat är det fortsatta beroendet av fossila bränslen. För att lösa det här måste energiförsörjningen globalt ställas om till förnybart - till sol, vind och vatten. Vissa menar att den här gröna omställningen inte bara kommer lösa klimatkrisen utan också på köpet kommer göra världen fredligare, mer demokratisk och mer jämlik. Men stämmer det verkligen?
