Padres Hot Tub

Craig Elsten talks to the PHT discord community on Sunday afternoon after a 2-1 win for the Padres over Washington, rallying for a 2-2 series split and a 4-3 season series win over the Nats.

Craig and John get together on Discord and chat with some of their patrons about Fernando Tatis Jr., A.J. Preller, Josh Bell, Eric Hosmer, Trent Grisham, Juan Soto and a bunch of other stuff.

John Gennaro is back from vacation and, after unsuccessfully attempting to record Padres Hot Tub on Monday evening, he's joined by Craig Elsten on the PHT Discord server to go over his thoughts on Fernando Tatis Jr.'s 80-game suspension for using a performance-enhancing substance.

Fernando Tatis Jr has tested positive for PEDs and the exciting, innocent start to his career has suddenly come to an end. General manager AJ Preller and Padres teammates are dropping the hammer on Tatis. The club looks good enough to still contend, but what happens to Fernando's career in San Diego, and to his career overall?

Craig Elsten gathered the Padres Hot Tub Patreon subscribers live on Discord to talk it all through and sort out the facts and the emotions of the situation.

Craig Elsten and John Gennaro chat with their patrons about what the team will do at 1B after this season, what a Juan Soto contract extension would look like, and the real value of Jake Cronenworth.

Craig Elsten and John Gennaro discuss the 2022 San Diego Padres, coming off a sweep at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and take their temperature on the offense, the starting pitching staff, and Fernando Tatis Jr.

Craig and John are joined by a handful of their Patreon subscribers on the PHT Discord server for a fun conversation about the San Diego Padres' roster construction, future finances, and where the Juan Soto deal ranks in San Diego sports history.

After the Padres pulled off the biggest and best trade deadline deal in baseball history for Juan Soto and Josh Bell (after getting Josh Hader and doing a bunch of other great stuff), Craig and John met with Corey Stewart at Rouleur Brewing to talk about it. There are fights, there are laughs, and there is a lot of excitement about the future of the San Diego Padres. Enjoy this extra long episode!

After the Padres traded four players to the Milwaukee Brewers for all-star closer Josh Hader, John Gennaro jumped on Discord to chat with Craig Elsten and some of the PHT patrons about his thoughts on the trade and what it means for the next 24 hours.

Craig Elsten and guest co-host Corey Stewart talk about the state of the Padres heading into the trade deadline, and welcome in Patrons from the Patreon community to answer their questions. Included: how is Bob Melvin handling his bullpen, how should we emotionally prepare for the possibility of *not* getting Juan Soto, and is there a creative way to get Eric Hosmer off the club at low cost?
