My thoughts on the New York Islanders winning the 2025 NHL Draft Lottery, their first number one pick since drafting John Tavares in that spot 16 years ago.

There's no doubt that this will be a day changing the trajectory of the Islanders franchise, with a future very uncertain as Hockey Hall of Famer Lou Lamoriello was let go from his duties as President of Hockey Ops/General Manager just weeks ago. It becomes all the more brighter as the countdown now begins for the 2025 NHL Draft in Los Angeles. And to think I was setting the stage for this on Pags' Perspective earlier today! You can't make this story up.

A Monday hockey edition of Pags' Perspective, a day after the incredible Game 7 finish between the St. Louis Blues and Winnipeg Jets, which really reminded me of Islanders playoff games at the Nassau Coliseum. Speaking of the Islanders, they hope to win the 1st pick at tonight's NHL Draft Lottery in New Jersey with 3.5% odds, as well as some more Islanders news behind the scenes.

This afternoon, the New York Islanders announced they will not be renewing the contract of President/GM Lou Lamoriello, after 7 seasons with the franchise which saw 5 playoff appearances and near-back to back Stanley Cup Finals appearances, arguably the franchise’s most successful stretch post-Dynasty.
