Starting a new series here on Pags' Perspective called "Cross Islanders Parkway" featuring New York Islander game recaps. 2-0 since I've been talkin' Isles on the pod, so it looks like this may be here to stay.

Anyway, Isles beat the Colorado Avalanche 5-2 last night to extend the win streak to five, going into a Metro division matchup against the Flyers in Philadelphia tomorrow night. I break down what went right for them in the win.

On yesterday's episode, I briefly previewed the Carolina Hurricanes-New York Islanders matchup that night at UBS Arena, a night where the Isles just so happened to best their Metro Division rivals courtesy of a Brock Nelson OT game winner.

1/22/25 - So much to discuss tonight! With the defending World Series Champion Dodgers bringing on more big pieces (and upsetting every non-Dodger fan in the process), the latest on my New York Mets since the big Juan Soto signing, and reacting to the 2025 Baseball Hall of Fame Class. We may still be a few weeks away from pitchers and catchers reporting, but talkin' ball won't stop anytime soon.

With the passing of legendary baseball announcer Bob Uecker being announced earlier today, I reflect on his 54 seasons calling Milwaukee Brewers baseball, and what he has meant for the game of baseball and for broadcasting. Rest In Peace, Bob Uecker (1934-2025).

The end of 2024 came with the sad news of the 39th President of the United States of America, Jimmy Carter, passing away at 100 years old. As his funeral services are set to be held on January 9th in both Washington D.C. and his home state of Georgia, Pags takes a look back at the legacy of former President Carter and what we all can learn from his life, as both President and as a humanitarian following his administration.

Ryan Pagano's reaction to Juan Soto signing a record 15 year, $765 million contract with the New York Mets on the night of December 8th, 2024.

That's really all I have to say.

The late hours of December 1st, 2024 would see the Mets make their first big splash in free agency, in what will most likely go down as one of the more important offseasons in franchise history.

Per Jeff Passan, the Mets inked former Brewers starter Frankie Montas to a 2 year, $34 million deal. This signing may not be that of Juan Soto, arguably the best player available in this year's free agent class and one that Mets fans are really wishing for in Queens this holiday season.
