Paint the Town Dead episodes

  • Episode 68: Christi

Caitlin tells us the story of Christi. Spoilers: She lives! There is still death, sadly, but that's kind of what we all agreed on when we came up with the podcast's name.

Things get weird and sad in the post show because Caitlin watched the new Bo Burnham special and Andrew's been thinking about weird anime stuff like Evangelion and V Gundam.

  • Episode 67: Dominic Whitaker

This week we cover the story of Dominic Whitaker, who went missing on July 4, 2010, but wasn't reported until five days later. Clues as to his whereabouts were few and far between. Whitaker didn't seem to be the type to go and run off, but he also wasn't involved in criminal activity or known for making enemies.

Andrew mocks anti-vaxxers and Caitlin becomes a bigger nerd by playing complicated board games.

  • Episode 66: Larry Porter Chism

We're back and late again! Was it Caitlin's fault yet again? No, but let's pretend it was because Andrew is the one writing this. Regardless, we've got a heck of a story for you this week. Larry Porter Chism threw away a shot at a nice career in law by also being into the illegal drug trade. Chism would be arrested and sentenced to 40 years in prison, but his story didn't end there. He and other prisoners were taken out for a bowling field trip for good behavior only to use this as an opportunity to escape! It only gets crazier from there.

We talk about John Williams, Caitlin thinks she hates sitcoms, and Andrew accuses her of being an agent of the Sith. There's some talk about ear licking ASMR (no worries, no actual ASMR occurs in this show) and the weirdness of Twitch.

  • Episode 65: Mary Lou York

June 1, 1979, Mary Lou York was murdered in her grocery store. The culprit was never in question, as York was able to identify her killer as Charles Laverne Singleton before she died. Singleton would be sentenced to death, but his time on death row would make headlines around the world.

Afterwards, Caitlin tries to stump Andrew with THE HARDEST STAR WARS QUIZ EVER! Or at least that's what the quiz claimed, so we'll see if we can prove it to be a dirty, disgusting liar.

  • Episode 64: Jersey Bridgeman

We're a little late this week, but we're back. Caitlin tells us the tragic story of Jersey Bridgeman, who was abused by her father and stepmother, being chained to a dresser. The two of them would be caught and sent off to prison, and Jersey would go to live with her mother. Unfortunately, that's not how this story ends, as Jersey would go missing late one night.

Later, Andrew yells at Caitlin about bananas.

  • Episode 63: Nannette Krenzel

Nannette Krenzel went missing on May 12, 1995. She was last seen leaving a Chicago bar after an altercation with her boyfriend. The next morning she would be found dead. Was it the obvious answer that it was her boyfriend who had acted strangely afterwards, his brother who didn't like the two as a couple, or maybe a totally different out of left field culprit? The only way to find out is to listen to this week's episode of Paint the Town Dead. Or just use google, I guess.

  • Episode 62: Leslie and Mike MacKool

Leslie Ballard came from a loving family and had a nice, cushy job. Then she met Mike MacKool, a former Marine with a checkered past. Leslie was enamored with Mike, but her family did not approve of their marriage. The MacKools loved adventure and more importantly, spending money whether it was their own or their family's.

Post-show Caitlin talks about a couple of movies she saw and continues her journey through the Throne of Glass series. Andrew watched Mortal Kombat: Conquest, the best/worst show possibly ever made.

  • Episode 61: Debra Reese and Ledell Lee

In 1993, Debra Reese was found murdered in her Jacksonville, Arkansas home. Police quickly zeroed in on Ledell Lee as her killer. As time has marched on, Lee's guilt has come under intense scrutiny. Was Lee truly guilty, or has Debra Reese's killer gone free this entire time?

Afterwards Andrew talks about the new Star Wars series, The Bad Batch, and is then annoyed by the characters of Psych. Caitlin is still listening to the Throne of Glass series and watched Things Heard and Seen. We also get called out on Twitter because of our wretched math abilities.

  • Episode 60: The Blue Light Rapist

In 1995 fear gripped the state of Arkansas. A man driving a white car and utilizing a blue light to impersonate a police officer began pulling over women in remote areas, taking them hostage, and then raping them. A massive task force was assembled to bring the man known as the Blue Light Rapist to justice.

Afterwards, we talk about some of the typical nonsense. Caitlin is still reading Throne of Glass, Andrew reads some Witcher and football stuff and then becomes way too proud of his stupid new catchphrase.

A woman is found murdered in Blytheville, Arkansas and is unrecognizable. Police work quickly to determine the woman's identity and find her killer. On her body are several puzzle pieces which will be key in solving the crime.

Afterwards Caitlin shares an update on the Morgan Nick case, and some interactions with listeners. We also talk about her cat Jaxson who sadly passed away recently, including Andrew's account of when Jaxson stole his tuna. We also talk about Falcon and Winter Soldier and whatever else happened to come into our brains.
