In this powerful episode of Painting Your Path, I sit down with Emiliya Zhivotovskaya, CEO of The Flourishing Center, to explore resilience, post-traumatic growth, and the power of mindset in the wake of adversity. Emiliya shares insights from positive psychology on how we can process trauma, navigate challenging emotions, and support ourselves and others during difficult times. She also discusses the impact of the language we use with ourselves, the difference between sympathy and empathy, and how to reframe our personal narratives to foster healing and growth.
Emiliya and I reflect on our own experiences with loss, including my journey dealing with aftermath of the Eaton fires. Emiliya offers a free resource—her Mind Over Chatter program—to help listeners manage mind chatter and cultivate resilience.
Emiliya’s Bio: Emiliya Zhivotovskaya is the CEO and founder of The Flourishing Center and the Center for Positive Education, both of which are dedicated to increasing flourishing for individuals, organizations and communities. For over 17 years, she has trained thousands of certified practitioners in positive psychology, coaching, resilience training, education, and consulting. Emiliya was one of the first 75 people in the world to earn a Master’s Degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Positive Psychology and is pursuing her Ph.D. in Mind-Body Medicine from Saybrook University. Emiliya holds a Master Certified Coach (MCC™) credential with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), as well as over a dozen certifications in modalities ranging from coaching to yoga, Reiki, intenSati, Thai massage, biofeedback, motivational interviewing, and more. In this special release episode of the Painting Your Path™ podcast I interview Ivory Rose, an occupational therapist and poet. We discuss the social prescribing movement and in case you didn’t know, today is Social Prescribing Day 🎉 Ivory shares her journey, including her involvement in Social Prescribing USA and her work on the impact of service on health and wellness. She emphasizes the importance of meaningful activities in wellness, the concept of occupational justice, and how occupational therapists play an important role when we think about connecting the right kind of social prescription activity to a particular person.
Here’s more about Ivory: Dr. Ivory Rose holds a master's in occupational therapy from New York University where she received the Arch Award for excellence in service and a post-professional doctorate in occupational therapy from Boston University, where she designed a prescribed volunteerism program for young adults with lived experience in the foster care system. Ivory utilizes her original poetry to advocate for social change and has performed on international stages from Los Angeles to London to Paris to Athens. As lead of healthcare engagement for Social Prescribing USA, she is a staunch advocate for fostering collaboration between occupational therapy and the social prescribing movement.
If you’re curious about the social prescribing movement, tune in to this episode and get involved! If you’re listening to this episode in real time, there are a number of Social Prescribing activities happening today. I’m hosting a free “art break” that I’m calling Artful Rx at 3pm PST on zoom.

In this episode of Painting Your Path™, I sit down with my copy mentor, Marisa Corcoran (and returning guest), to talk about the power of words in business—and in life. Marisa, the creator of The Copy Confidence Society, has helped over 1,000 business owners craft compelling messaging that attracts and converts.
We also dive into personal storytelling—how to balance vulnerability with strategy, the importance of sharing the scar and not the wound, and how Marisa navigated her own health challenges while keeping her business visible. If you’ve ever struggled with what to say on social, how to write emails, (or how much to share), you won’t want to miss this conversation.
Plus, Marisa gives us a sneak peek into her upcoming f-r-e-e masterclass, Leave ’Em Wanting More, where she breaks down a three-part framework for creating copy that feels like you—while making your audience say, “Tell me more!”

Remember that iconic 70's commercial - Calgon, take me away? That feeling still resonates, doesn't it? Whether it's gridlock traffic, mounting work demands, or juggling family responsibilities, we're all looking for that moment of escape.
But here's the thing: while a luxurious bath might offer temporary relief, what if I told you there's a way to create lasting transformation instead?
In today's episode of Painting Your Path™, I sat down with my dear friend and retreat co-conspirator, Mitta Wise. Together, we dive deep into what real transformation looks like and share details about our upcoming women's retreat, "Awaken Your Vision Within."
About Mitta: Originally a registered nurse from New Zealand, Mitta transitioned careers in Los Angeles becoming a holistic practitioner with many holistic modalities such as hypnotherapy, bodywork, & various energy psychology therapies.
From there, through more changes, and specialized business training, she has developed success, empowerment & wellness online programs, helping so many women through their own life & career transitions - and upleveling their lives in the process.
In her down time she travels, meditates, sings, walks, does yoga, and spends time with her partner Mike & friends. She is heavily involved in two non profits that are dear to her heart.
