Welcome to our first Audio Comic on the podcast! This flagship Audio Comic adapts our latest graphic novel, GirlFIEND in Paris, the sequel to GirlFIEND published by Dark Horse Comics. 

The fugitive romance continues between Karina, a day-walking vampire, and Nick, a nocturnal mortal. Living out their storybook fantasy in Paris by day and hunting down criminals by night to feed Karina's hunger, Nick's moral line continues to be pushed to the limit. When Karina discovers her latest prey holds a dark criminal secret, it will put their immortal love-pact to the test when they attempt to rescue an innocent girl from a deadly underworld plot. Told by Karina in poetic verse, we are taken on a-day-in-the-life of forbidden love that goes from romance to horror to pulp-crime thriller—best read at bedtime!

Today we’re dropping a special bonus podcast episode in celebration of Batman Day!  In the early 2000s we got the opportunity to write and draw one of the great comic book heroes of the 20th century. There was tremendous excitement coupled with a dose of terror as we set our creative sights on representing this towering cultural icon in the beginning of the new millennium. 

From our first foray into the world of the Dark Knight in Batman Chronicles #21, with the Elseworlds short story, “Apocalypse Girl”, to our 8-issue series, “Batman: City of Light”, for DC Comics, we look back at creating stories about Gotham City during Y2K, and in the tragic shadow of the 911 attacks on New York City, and how we navigated the influence of these global events while writing and drawing one of our childhood heroes…The Batman!”

This Pander Bros. This episode we go back in time to the rain soaked streets of Portland, Oregon in the 1980’s where two two teenagers with dreams of making movies and comics found a way to fulfill their creative aspirations. What goes into making a graphic novel? When Covid-19 hit and stopped the world as we knew it we went from collaborating in the same studio to being in lockdown for months in separate places. We had been planning to get an indie movie into production, but the pandemic put that all on hold. Instead, Arnold began working on the followup to our vampire horror story graphic novel, GirlFIEND, this time set in Paris, France. This new book took a very different approach from the first book, which was in the pulp crime fiction genre, and this time went for a more elegant coffee table book feel, eventually published as a hardbound book colored with a mix of real and digital watercolor.
