Finally, we've come to the smoking hot "you should really read a few Wikipedia articles before you make life-changing decisions using knowledge of the future" cautionary tale of time travel: Time Lapse.
A camera that can see the future seems awesome, especially when you use knowledge of tomorrow to make you rich today. But the trouble in Time Lapse is the three friends who stumble on this future-knowledge technology spend the whole movie afraid they're going to get murdered by supernatural time forces, and that colors all their unfortunate future decisions.
If you haven't watched Time Lapse, check it out on Netflix. As always, you're going to want to watch before you listen.
Next week's episode: Time Cop. Get your Van Damme on so you're ready!
Finally, we've come to the smoking hot "hellish causality loop in which free will doesn't exist — but in Spanish" of time travel: Timecrimes (or Los Cronocrímenes).
Director Ignacio "Nacho" Vigalondo's time travel story follows our take on Looper. It's another time loop movie, but this time the loop is actually a loop, complete with the fatalistic feeling that it's impossible to break free, and that all of time — past, present and future — are already set.
f you haven't seen Timecrimes, as always, listening to this episode will ruin it for you. So stream it beforehand! Phil and Nick recently revisited the movie and found that a few versions, including Amazon's, are only available dubbed and have sound issues. Check out the version on Vudu for the original Spanish audio track with English subtitles, which is the superior version.
Oh, and sorry for the delay between episodes! One-half of a podcast duo becoming a father has some strange temporal stretching effects on the production of time travel story analyses, we've discovered. Interns are currently investigating (read: providing free babysitting labor).
Finally, we've come to the smoking hot "if you met Baby Hitler, would you kill him?" moral dilemma of time travel, "Looper."
We're old hands at analyzing "Looper" -- we dug into the movie way back when So You Created a Wormhole was first released in this article for The Huffington Post. We'll be revisiting those ideas, as well as delving into new ones, getting lost in some of the weird time travel idiosyncracies of "Looper," and wondering what's the deal with kale. That's more of a side discussion but maybe it's, like, symbolic, man.
Finally, we've come to the smoking hot nuke-from-orbit of time travel that is Terminator: Genisys.
Concluding our look at the (absolutely ridiculous, paradox-ridden time travel disaster that is the) Terminator franchise, we're diving into Terminator: Genisys -- the Terminator movie that completely nukes the entire Terminator timeline and all its rules, then makes up entirely new ones.
If you haven't seen the film, you might be a bit lost, and you will absolutely be spoiled. Listen at your own risk!
Also, check out this Entertainment Weekly article that does a good job of running down the Terminator time travel conundrum, with theories of its own.

Finally, we've come to the smoking hot machine overlord of time travel: "The Terminator."
James Cameron's seminal action movie about a robot from the future trying to annihilate his future competition by killing him before he's born isn't the most cogent of time travel stories -- it basically exists thanks to some fudged rules of causality that allow one person to chase another through time without feeling the effects of the first person's travel -- but it's a solid story and one of the best-known examples of time travel in film.
Unfortunately, the longer "Terminator" goes on, the more batshit it becomes. And we're covering the original three movies in one go in this Arnold-size episode of the Paradox Podcast.
