Montgomery Hyde—former spy, protege & biographer of Sir William Stephenson (Little Bill), Ulster Unionist MP, and cousin of Henry James... plus H. Montgomery Hyde's strange proclivity for writing book-length works on pederasts, pornography, and homosexuality; the fact that he was deselected around the time of the Wolfenden Report when calling for the decriminalization of homosexuality in the U.K.; Hyde as the source of the rumor that Marcel Schwob died from constipation caused by syphilis from his book The Love that Dared Not Speak It's Name; Joris-Karl Huysmans apostasy and odyssey from Naturalism to Symbolism to Decadent Satanism to Mystic Catholicism; feuding b/w Symbolist occultists & Emile Zola; J.K. Welcome back to ParaPower Mapping—it's the second part of our investigation into the Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis. In Part II, we pick back up following our unpacking of Crowley's early years as a sexpionage magus & agent provocateur. We assemble the evidence supporting our overarching argument that the founder of AMORC, H. Spencer Lewis, was likely a German agent or asset and consider the attendant implications.
Anxious to listen to the full version of Pt. II? Support the show & subscribe to the Premium Feed to access the complete version (which includes an additional hour of dizzying research & AMORC revelations—not to toot my own horn, but it's some of Klonny's niftiest research yet)—as well as exclusive EPs that release biweekly: patreon.com/ParaPowerMapping
In this EP, we discuss:
Harvey Spencer Lewis's early life in New Jersey; his German mother (backing up our German asset argument); the foundational myth of AMORC, involving Lewis & his father traveling to Toulouse & meeting an aged hierophant & supernal Rosicrucian masters in a tower—which links this EP to the "Fin De Siècle" series, as it's the same city where Sar Péladan's brother Adrien was initiated into another French Rosicrucian order; sex magic progenitor Paschal Beverly Randolph; the AMORC charter ("Pronunziamento") which Crowley disparaged for the apparent gaffe of titling it w/ an Italian phrase instead of French, plus serial predator & literal vampire Lt. Col. Michael Aquino's discovery of a copy of the charter in the NY Public Library that is initialed OTO, hinting at even closer ties b/w the two orders; Wandering Bishops; Pristine Church of Rosicrucæ; Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia; H. Spencer Lewis's "Gold Bonds" fraud in NYC; AMORC's wealthy benefactors in San Fran & San Jose, including a German emigre named Elsa Lincke who was involved in bringing cabaret to NY & who Crowley's A∴A∴ also received financing from; Lewis's initiation into the OTO; an explainer of OTO's esoteric sex magick degrees and the possible utility that sexual blackmail such occult traditions serve intelligence agencies; Lewis's initiatory society federation FUDOSI, and connections to the Kabbalistic Order of the Rose + Croix, Martinist Order, and Co-Masonic Order of Memphis-Misraim (which preceded OTO); AMORC's relationship w/ Du Pont; the creation of synthetic gems & diamonds in the RCU alchemy laboratory; the AMORC ethos's fusion of esoteric Christianity & Greco-Egyptian Hermeticism; another Rosicrucian society in New England that preceded AMORC & was led by Sylvester Gould & connected to Boston College; the Wars of the Ros(es)icrucians lol... the rivalry between H. Spencer Lewis and R. Swinburne Clymer (who ran a competing American Rosicrucian order & wrote a book accusing Lewis of defrauding people and being connected to Crowley); their competing federations; Crowley's attempt to extort $900,000 from H. Spencer Lewis by claiming initiatic succession as head of the OTO; an examination of the newspaper articles I found on Lewis's arrest over the "gold bonds" AND, most interestingly, hinting that Reuss may have been Lewis's handler, the fact that the NY DA & fed agents raided AMORC having learned that Lewis was promising prospective members of a draft age exemption from the draft!; the fact that the raid likely precipitated Lewis & AMORC moving to Tampa Bay & then San Jose; the AMORC compound Rosicrucian Park in downtown San Jose; the rumor that Walt Disney was a member (another German sympathizer); Lewis's involvement in the Institute for Psychical Research & possible connection to the Society for Psychical Research (which counted Crowley's handler Fielding as a member); and so much more.

Welcome back to ParaPower Mapping. The Boston Brahmin Watch Bus is on the road again today—it's a surprise double header.

We first unpack the mythic & historical antecedents of Bryan Johnson's alchemical vampirism & elite pursuit of the Elixir of Life, including an examination of the Rosicrucian Royal Society & Robert Boyle's involvement in the very first blood transfusions, the Epic of Gilgamesh, & examples from Ancient China, Hindu scriptures, etc.; from there, we discuss Richard & Isabella Ingalese, a husband-wife duo of New Thought gurus (as well as a corporate mining lawyer & psychic) who authored numerous Kybalion-esque self-help texts and then relocated to Southern California to attempt the Great Work, eventually attesting in an interview w/ the Occult Review that they'd succeeded in attaining the Red & White Stones of the Philosophers, also claiming that they personally knew alchemists living in SoCal that were 600, 400, & 200 years old; the Ingalese's pyramid scheme "Renewal Club"—which may have been a coven of alchemical vampires—that mirrors AMORC & future New Age-y California cults; we continue exploring Stavish's history of American alchemy, which serves as an introduction to AMORC & AMORC's non-accredited Rose + Croix University; we discuss founder H. Spencer Lewis's publicity stunt where he performed the "transmutation" of zinc into gold in front of an audience of AMORC grandmasters & newspaper journalists, which supposedly gave him 2nd & 3rd degree burns on his hands; we mention the California magus Frater Albertus, an AMORC lab alchemy graduate who would go on to proselytize the "life-enriching" aspects of alchemy, briefly playing a clip of a presentation he gave at UC Davis on alchemy at the exact same time that Timothy Leary was signing autographs in another hall on campus; from there, we transition to working our way through the first few chapters in Richard Spence's Secret Agent 666, investigating the evidence of Crowley's espionage work, his early recruitment through the Primrose League & a "gunners" cadet corps in Worcestershire, spying interpretations of his varied & globetrotting travels in the late 1890s & early 1900s, his involvement in securing oil in Mexico & initiation into a Mexican Scottish Rite Masonic order, the possibility that Crowley met Rasputin (and may have been in Russia at the same time as Gurdjieff), the likelihood that sexpionage & sexual blackmailing may have made up a significant part of Crowley's toolkit, the strong possibility that Crowley was assigned to infiltrate both the Golden Dawn & OTO to surveil enemy elements of the Crown & British Empire establishment in both orders, the fact that German agent Theodore Reuss was likely trying to turn Crowley by recruiting him into the OTO, the numerous intelligence officers that were members in Crowley's own order Astrum Argenteum, and finally, the cover & motives of Crowley's arrival in NYC aboard the Lusitania at the onset of World War I (a British armament or finance business deal, surveillance of German occultists, and the tracking of Irish republican Sir Roger Casement).
Pt. I of II. The second is dropping momentarily.

Willkommen zurück bei ParaPower Mapping; mein name ist Klonny Gosch. We're taking a road trip today—all aboard the Boston Brahmin Watch tour bus.
That's right, we're heading south to Philly to explore the German Pietist & Rosicrucian sect known as the Chapter of Perfection and their communitarian community on Schuylkill River. Get ready for some colonial-era angel/ alien sightings and more alchemical weirdness.

This EP includes:
The Boston Brahmin Watch bus origin story; an intro to Johannes Kelpius, his birth in Transylvania (harmonizing this EP's vampire theme), matriculation at the Uni of Altdorf, and conversion into the Pietist collegium called the Chapter of Perfection; the Chapter of Perfection's influences (Phillip Jacob Spener, Johannes Valentin Andreæ, Paracelsus, Jakob Böhme, cabalists like von Rosenroth, etc.); the Chapter of Perfection's emigration to the New World; their pansophic & millenarian beliefs; the Chapter's selection of Society of the Woman in the Wilderness as the name for their new commune, inspired by Revelation and the war in heaven; Kelpius's Diarium; the Chapter's purported celibacy; a goofy entry from Kelp's journal that includes a Latin pun on body orifices that seems to hint at possibly antinomian or sexually transgressive practices among the members; the Chapter's vessel Sarah Mariah Hopewell getting marooned on a sandbar and "God's intervention" at Kelpius's behest, saving their voyage by lifting the ship to safety w/ a massive wave; a battle against 3 French ships on the high seas; the Chapter & the British captain seizure of the slaves aboard the defeated French vessel, & the possibility that the Chapter owned slaves; their settlement in colonial Philly; their gematric & numerological beliefs, and their insistence on keeping their order to only 40 members; their 40 sq ft tabernacle, which was built to conform to the holiness of the 40 (the decade of the perfect number); the crude observatory they built on their property; Kelpius's hermit cave, which he hollowed out to serve as his anchorite-esque hermitage & alchemical laboratory; their pursuit of the Elixir of Life; Chapter of Perfection expert Julius Sachse and his comparisons between the Chapter & the Cathars; Cabalistic symbols of numbers; the Monad; 4, the equal perfect number & symbol of deity; the Chapter's attempts at proselytizing to the Indigenous; evidence of the prevalence of historiographical beliefs in Native American Hebrew ancestry among the Chapter of Perfection, and a little speculation that they may have been familiar w/ John Dee's favorite Prince Madoc theories; a momentary detour into discussing Köster's belief that their indigenous neighbors were descended from "Celt-Iberian" or "Celt-Hebrew" peoples / one of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel; questions of the settler-colonial utility of these kinds of beliefs; visits from emissaries sent by the King of Sweden; more searching for universale menstruum; the Chapter of Perfection's inaccurate apocalyptic timeline; the crazy account of an angel sighting by the Monks on the Wissahickon; multiple stories of remote viewing & teleportation among Chapter of Perfection members; the death of Johannes Kelpius; his assistant's disobedience and attempt to hide his arcanum, which Kelpius saw w/ his 3rd eye; another account of a ship Capt.'s wife visiting Conrad Matthai, who used his abilities to locate her husband; regenerative Elixir of Life rites; a note about vampiric alchemists; and much, much more.

Our cont'd mapping of the overlaps & interconnections b/w the Symbolist, Decadent, Rosicrucian, Theosophical, & Satanic scenes in London; a closer look at J.K. Huysmans's transition from Naturalism to Symbolist & finally Decadent Satanism, as well as homoerotic & pederastic themes in his novels Against Nature & The Damned; Huysmans's occult apprenticeship under the Satanic Abbé Boullan, at least one of the prototypes of the Satanic Priest Canon Docre in Là-bas; his beliefs in "expiatory suffering" & Dolorism; his predecessor Eugene Vintras; the Mystic Substition of Pain—antecedents of Crowley's later philosophies of "initiation through sexual transgression"; Boullan's reputation of holding Satanic orgies & child sacrifice, and fellow occultists Stanislas de Guaïta & Papus's investigation into his cult & misdeeds, which led to a black magic duel (that Huysmans's maintained took Boullan's life); contemporary French depictions of the devil (Dr. Bataille, Michelet, Bois); Sar Péladan's Salon de la Rose + Croix; his Catholic Legitimist & Bourbon Restorationist father, who founded his own Catholic sect; his crazy alchemist brother who OD'd on strychnine; Péladan's claim that he could utilize remote viewing for espionage purposes (which he declared to French President Félix Faure); Péladan's connections to many prominent artists, poets, & composers—Erik Satie, Debussy, Wagner, Christina Rossetti, W.B. Welcome back to ParaPower Mapping and the fifth installment of "The Secret History of MasSUSchusetts". It's a surprise double header! This was initially going to be one episode, but I got so obsessed w/ mapping William Pynchon's fur-trading monopoly and decoding the Rosicrucian wordplay in Thomas Pynchon's short story "Under the Rose" that I had to split it into 2.
This episode covers:
our cont'd serialization of Winthrop the Younger’s alchemical Rosicrucian plantation; the enabling of his settlement of the Pequot lands of Nameaug/ New London by his daddy's war against the Pequot; the complex territorial power dynamics b/w Winthrop Jr., the Mohegan chief Uncas, the Pequot Robin Cassacinamon, & the Connecticut & Massachusetts colonies; Winthrop's attempt to use his alchemedicine practice to consolidate power & respect among Pequot by posing as a "powwaw" (medicine doctor); Uncas's strategic wifing up & the rad counter-revolutionary moment when Robin helped a Pequot woman escape from her enslavement in Winthrop Sr.'s compound in Boston; Uncas & his war band's raid on New London—attempt to assert his power over Pequot villagers & make his tributaries return to his camp; the rare instance where the colonial authorities sided w/ Uncas (an indigenous sachem) instead of English grievances; Winthrop's enslavement of Robin; Uncas's obstruction of Winthrop the Younger's shipments of ore from his Tantiusque mine site...
...a brief Puritanical backlash against alchemy in the 1640s, & Winthrop Jr.'s ally Robert Child's house arrest; Child's dissident faction, which petitioned the colonies to change their enfranchisement laws & push MA + CT to become more religiously tolerant...
...William Pynchon's defense of Robert Child's crew; his "heretical" text The Meritorious Price of Our Redemption; William Pynchon family's gentry status & property-holdings in Chelmsford; his status as churchwarden & "Matthew Yglesias-like hall monitoring" of his fellow villagers (basically he was a pain in everyone's ass); Pynchon fam's decision to join the Puritan emigres to NE for economic reasons; his founding of Roxbury & Springfield; preexisting relationship w/ the Winthrop's; the tragic smallpox epidemic that killed 12,000 indigenous in the Connecticut River Valley in 1633, "clearing the way" for Pynchon's Springfield; Pynchon's land & fur speculation; his role as colonial treasurer; the Springfielders' belief that Connecticut indigenous cursed their settlement by invoking Hobbamock; Pynchon as magistrate & overlord of his village; his prosecution of Hugh & Mary Parsons for witchcraft, which may have acted as a convenient distraction from his heresy case; Pynchon's proto-capitalist system of keeping villagers indebted to him indefinitely so he could work them to death, particularly Hugh Parsons; witch's teats, purple milk, a calf w/ 3 heads, witch-y night terrors, UAP lights over Boston, bloody rain, & other "Memorable Providences"; Mary Parson's shock confession of witchcraft & death in prison; Pynchon's Biblical exegesis of the Atonement; & his return to Old England...
...a mapping of W. Pynchon's powerful descendants; Hawthorne's The House of the Seven Gables & the Pynchon fam's piss-iness that he "slandered" them; a glossing of Thomas Pynchon's early life, matriculation at Cornell, Navy deployment, Greenwich Village connections, & early writing career; a semi-close-reading (possibly schizo) of one of Pynchon's earliest stories, the spy-caper "Under the Rose" (which was repurposed in V. & Slow Learner), especially the rampant Rosicrucian symbolism & wordplay; his use of his colonial heritage; & other speculations...

Welcome back to ParaPower Mapping and the fourth installment of "The Secret History of MasSUSchusetts". It's a surprise double header!
