TW // Drowning. Ghosts.

Town would be a generous way to describe the scattered buildings around Lake Arkansas. A settlement. Maybe. One gas station. One convenience store. One bar. A handful of off the grid homes and trailers. And one, massive, lake. This is a place very few people call home. A bridge, one of the two connections to the half town, stretches across the expanse of the lake. There is nothing but water below it and the cloudy Texan sky above it. A thick mist hangs over Lake Arkansas today and because of that, the bridge across the expansive lake seems to stretch on forever, disappearing into the haze of the fog, It’s disorienting to say the least.

TW // Drowning

With Springwood Lodge in the rearview, Alister and Saint head south back to Saint’s hometown of Austin, Texas. Just when it seems like Saint and Alister may be parting ways, Saint receives a phone call from a family friend with a specific offer to look into a bar in the countryside.

Thank you for your patience while we took a bit of a break over the holidays. ParaScience is back.

Like a Séance, this is an opportunity to catch up. We realized that we’ve been a little too quiet for too long, and so we wanted to provide some details on the upcoming Chapter Six: The Haunting of Lakeside Dive, as well as announce some side projects that we’ve been working on during our brief hiatus. Expect a lot of ParaScience, here and on our Patreon, in your immediate future. In a sense, this is an omen of what’s to come. Be afraid. Tell your friends.

TW // death, ghosts, the afterlife, cults

It’s been a harrowing night in Springwood Lodge, but it seems the haunting that has so long inhabited the beams and stonework may have passed into the night with the Visitor. The snow continues to drift down past the rose window at the end of the chapel and a broken Julian Springwood huddles on the ground in the darkness. The malevolent energy that was here, in this room, has largely faded. But it’s not gone. Not in a place as shrouded in misery as Springwood Lodge.

“You don’t know what you’ve done.” The fight against the Springwoods ends here on the third floor of Springwood Lodge. Alister and Saint encounter something beyond either of their imaginations. The world is so much bigger than all of them.

The flashes of electrical light illuminate the top floor of Springwood Lodge. The shadows of your fellow agents shoot up the side of the walls and flicker with the candlelight. It’s now or never. It’s time to strike against The Church of the Open Mind.

Alister had uncovered some shocking details about Springwood Lodge’s foundation, both literal and figurative. What any of these strange unidentified objects mean about what happened here is as of yet unknown, but it’s their first step into putting the pieces together.
