As we enter Holy Week, Ps Hilary Williams leads us in a short reflection in Mark. In the lead up to the cross, we see that Jesus clearly knew what lay ahead of him. While most of us shrink from impending struggle, we see our Saviour ready to face the trauma and suffering he knew was coming. As well as stirring love and awe for Jesus, we pray that we might be challenged to likewise give our lives in honour to the Father.

Ecclesiastes 5:8-6:12. Susan Moore continues our Broken series with a discussion. In conversation with Josh Lau and Grace Frutschi, we see the Teacher charging us to keep eternity in view with respect to wealth. We are reminded that rather than bringing happiness and setting us free, the love of money has a tendency to ensnare us and corrupt the heart. The passage concludes with the blessing of finding contentment in God and all He has given us.

Eccl 5:1-7. Anoj Joseph continues our Broken series by considering our attitude to worship. The Teacher tells us in chapter 5 that there are times when our worship is either false or ritualistic. Seeing our own hearts, this does not really surprise us. Rather than going through the motions, the Teacher implores us that our worship will be more genuine when we start from a foundation of the greatness of who God is.

Andrew Mihaleff continues our Broken series looking at the 4th chapter of Ecclesiastes. There is a natural desire within each of us to exercise control over our lives. This takes many forms - wealth, success, fame and so on. The Teacher warns us about the dark side - and ultimately, futility - of the pursuit of this kind of control. Thankfully, the Teacher also provides us with the God-given antidote to the seduction of power.
