Matthew 1:18-25. Ps Hilary Williams leads us in a reflection over the extraordinary events of the first Advent. In our modern Christmas of rush and busyness, yet we would do well to pause and consider just how amazing the coming of God remains. Christmas also forces us into a choice as to how we ought to respond to Him - be threatened like Herod, or come in reverence and worship like the shepherds and the Magi.

Ephesians 1:3-14. Ps Hilary Williams continues our series on God's identity by looking at God's giving heart. If we could find one word to sum up God, generous would be high on the list. Sadly, we mistakenly believe that God is withholding from us, and that the cross - generous as that was - marks the end of His gifts to us. The truth is, God is always giving to us, over and over and over again. In experiencing God's abundant generosity, we are challenged to likewise live generously.

Romans 6:15-18. Andrew Mihaleff continues our series on God's identity by looking at the righteousness of God. This area of God's character poses challenges for us - not the least of which being what this says about us. We also fail to recognise that each of us is in the default state of slavery to sin. But thanks be to God - He as offered us liberty and the opportunity to be servants to someone and something far greater.

Luke 1:67-79. Ps Hilary Williams continues our series on the identity of God but looking at how He is committed to us. Faithfulness, loyalty and commitment are scarce values in today's world - these are becoming increasingly uncommon, and as a result, life feels more unstable and uncertain. The good news for us is that we serve a heavenly Father that is utterly committed to us, to our good, and can be trusted to walk with us faithfully.

Ps Louis Baron continues our series on God's identity by looking at His grace. God's grace is a double-edged sword - we must first realise our utter helplessness and desperate need for a saviour. We recognise that no amount of human endeavour, social justice; the very best man has to offer cannot help us reach God. It is this revelation that makes grace - God's totally unmerited favour towards us - taste all the sweeter! Given to us through Christ, it is His grace that opens the door to knowing the God our souls are looking for.
