This week marks one year since we started the Parsha Perspective, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank some people who have helped me to make the Parsha Perspective a reality. Thank you to Zev Segal, Orestes Sgoupakos, and Shlomo Hess for all your advice and support during the past year, may G-d continue to bless you and your family with much health success and happiness!

I would also like to thank each one of you for listening and sharing the podcast each week, and I hope you have gained as much as I have from the Parsha Perspective during this past year.

Our Parsha begins by introducing Noach, a person who remained righteous and faithful to G-d while the rest of society was in a state of anarchy and sin. Hashem informed Noach that a flood would soon destroy all of civilization, and only he and his family would survive by living in a ark that he was to build.

The rain lasted forty days and nights, causing the waters to reach even the tallest mountains. All humans and animals that were not stowed away on the teivah quickly drowned. The waters continued to churn for one hundred and fifty days until G-d commanded it to subdue.

We find out why Noach is not considered to be one of the forefathers of the Jewish people.

We learn the necessity for Unity between the Jewish people!
