On the eighth day from its inauguration, Aaron and his sons begin to officiate as Kohanim in the Mishkan, and fire issues forth from Hashem consumed the sacrifices that they had brought.
Aaron's eldest two sons brought an unauthorized spice offering to God and were killed instantly.
