Welcome to the first part of our three part series, Irresponsible Independence: In Commitment and Consequence. 

In this series we delve into the dichotomy of our God-given freedom and our duty to serve Him and others. While many of us aspire to be people of outstanding character and honor, our culture often misleads us into rebellion against God's kingship through subtle pressures in our day to day choices and unconscious life perspectives. There is a war going on in the spiritual realm with two sides that are fighting over us, seeking our citizenship and loyalty. Our choices determine the kingdom to which our lives are aligned. The heart of the decision comes down to whether we choose to walk in love and commit our lives to God's purposes or instead we choose vain pursuits and go after our own ambitions. We discuss the importance of using our freedom to live a life of service and strong commitment to love instead of being always concerned with what has only to do with ourselves.

Welcome to the final part of our four part series!

At the beginning we pick up where we left off discussing how childlikeness is something we lose because of being immersed in negative mindsets and behavioral patterns. We cover one of the biggest sources of this negativity: being afraid of what others think and being overly focused on earning their approval. It's important to be delight driven and freely enjoy life without fear restraining us. If we are free from obsessing over what others think and instead living with a sense of wonder, we are able to let purer motives express themselves through us as we treat others with kindness and see the good in them. A very tragic cause of loss of childhood that we cover is abuse or just being treated wrongly. We can be baited into "being in love" with someone who is actually very negative toward us and they will be used to exploit and devour our innocence and childlikeness. We continue into how we can protect these important traits and have them restored. The Lord never intended us for a life of pain and drudgery. Getting into God's best means living in His Kingdom and to do that, we need to enter as a child. God wants us to experience life as His beloved children.

Welcome to part three of our four part series! 

We begin this show with talking about the importance of being intentional in our relationships, putting our heart into it and not doing things mechanically. Then we continue into the dynamics of what including God in everything we do looks like for us. Small shifts in mindset and approach can make a huge difference in our life, allowing us to finally start doing something that we've been wanting but just not knowing how to really start and keep it going. 

We cover some of the baby steps that brought us into a lifestyle of deep immersion into God. Another important part of being able to get into this deeper place of living in God is that we need to learn to be childlike. We define what that means a little bit, how to begin living in it, and how it ties back to the original point of being intentional to really love life and people. Among the traits of childlikeness we cover, a sense of wonder and delightedly praising the good that we see are actually very important to making the most of the small things and of beginnings - including daily life in God. Also important: having fun and enjoying what we do and the things around us!

Welcome to part two of our latest four part series! This series is all about learning what it means to "be in God" and how we can do it. The thing is, God has already made His home within us once we've let Jesus into our hearts. But we need to do our part of the relationship as well. God calls us to a deeper place of relationship with Him.  

We start this episode talking about what worshiping God is really all about and how it impacts our lives. It is vital that we praise the good things about the people and relationships we care about and put focus on the things we really love about them - and that includes God! As we go further we talk about what it really means to be in continuous prayer and how it isn't about asking God for things all the time or saying a bunch of religious phrases. We also cover some of the reasons we might shy away from prayer in all circumstances and how to solve that gap between us and daily life in God. Finally, we discuss the importance of seeking guidance and hearing God for direction throughout our day.

Welcome to part one of our latest four part series! This series is all about learning what it means to "be in God" and how we can do it. The thing is, God has already made His home within us once we've let Jesus into our hearts. But we need to do our part of the relationship as well. There is so much more for us than to simply have God's forgiveness and acceptance along with a future in heaven. God calls us to a deeper place of relationship with Him. One that will allow the Kingdom of Heaven that is inside of us to get out into our world and even transform nations! By building this kind of relationship, we can hear and understand God much more clearly and in so doing, receive His guidance. Yet like any other relationship, this one needs consistent attention, pursuit, love, care, dedication, and communication.

So in this episode and through out this series, we will be discussing various forms we have learned to utilize in order to continuously seek God and make our home in Him where there is true rest. We will share the lessons we've learned and do our best to help you realize your own potential to not only have God make His home in you, but for you to find your home in Him.

Finishing from where we left off in the previous part about complaining, we point out the importance of choosing gratitude and focusing on the positive instead. We share more about how God has taught us many ways that He can speak to us as well as how to recognize His voice and understand what He is saying. Continuing from Part 1, we delve into our personal approach of Two Way Journaling as a couple. We cover many more of the benefits we have found through a daily practice of doing it together. This mini-series is about how important it is that God not only be the strong foundation of your relationship/marriage, but also that we always keep Him the center. We discuss ways in which we pursue God and grow together in Him while keeping this discipline consistent and constant.
