We begin with talking about how real love always brings the best out of you; it challenges both you and your spouse in a positive way to reach greater heights for each other. The first of the last two episodes in the Love, Not Lust series! We start by deconstructing views about marriage that stem from our modern, Western culture. We lay out the difference between having love in a marriage versus lust by underlining the motives and behavior of what love looks like and what it does NOT look like. We talk about the importance of communication with a heart to meet each others needs and desires and be there for each other. We share about the way the relationship changes in a very meaningful way after getting married. And we cover the need for intentionality to keep the romance and continue in love toward each other.

We're excited to announce that this is the inaugural episode of our first 6 part series!! The "Love, Not Lust," series has been in the works for around a year now and it's finally going to be published. The sound on this series will be a little different as it is excerpted from Brandi's Identity Over Victimization Challenge. The whole purpose of which is to empower anyone who has suffered from bullying, predation, abuse, human trafficking, or any other kind of victimization to rise up and recover their true self on the other side of all the brokenness and trauma. So you will also hear some references and common themes from the Challenge (which you can check out here). We will be discussing the topic of love over lust in three different arenas...Singles (Parts 1 & 2), Dating (Parts 3 & 4), and Marriage (Parts 5 & 6). Welcome to part two of the latest installment on our unofficial series we started with Episode 6: Two Become One. The connecting concept is the necessity that we recognize the respective roles of husband and wife in their marriage. Here we describe a little bit about our process of submitting to each other in the way we pray for each other and make decisions together. We also delve a little bit more into the importance of humility and being teachable to one another, recognizing God's leadership and anointing in each other. We also explain why it is important that you begin your relationship on the even footing of each partner having a prior relationship with God. We wrap this episode up by talking about recognizing abusive behavior for what it is, and understanding that biblical submission is not meant to be given outside of love.
