Beware of having a "leaky heart." Accepting the genuine/healthy love of those close to you is a part of life. You need to be whole in God and yourself to no longer be desperate…desperation leaves you vulnerable for brainwashing and manipulation. God's healing is needed by all. It again comes down to having a full and communicative relationship with God.

When you experience a large amount of spiritual warfare seemingly out of nowhere, you can expect a breakthrough of some sort. They're attacking you in an attempt to stop you from receiving what God has for you. Again, keep God at the center of all your plans. Follow God's plan for you no matter how other people will see it and/or react to it. He knows best, they don't. Shawn and Brandi share about the process of setting a wedding date, their mission trip to Ohio, and each going through Deliverance Sessions.

Shawn and Brandi share a little about the spiritual warfare before their wedding along with warfare Brandi faced in going on a conference trip with Shawn, his mom, and two siblings…which was again a pivotal time for them. Demons are liars and you shouldn't buy into their pack of lies…fight the good fight. They know some of the order of things before we do and will push you to a point of failure so that you can't make the difference you're purposed for.

Demonic resistance is an action…know that passivity to spiritual warfare will only sink you deeper into the bog of confusion and misdirection. Demons brainwash. Submit it all to God.

It's imperative that we don't claim negative and false things about ourselves. You have to flip a mental switch when someone repeatedly attacks you in order to keep yourself out of brainwashing. Shawn and Brandi discuss more on spiritual warfare and Brandi shares some experiences. Trust issues arise after trauma and they need addressing and overcome and Brandi shares personal examples. Do your own research on things and don't take everything at face-value.

There are good and bad leaders/teachers… It's important to trust the right people for your own sake and theirs.

Determination in learning appropriate boundaries will help you negate having a victim identity. See the irony in how Brandi's captor was actually training her to have a victim mindset and identity while stripping away any potential preset boundaries…including her deep set sense of modesty. Brandi shares more on how her relationship with God was really growing at the beginning of 2020, surpassing the beginning of it in 2019. Brandi talks on spiritual warfare and what it looks like. Brandi's captor used his definition of "panic attacks" to his advantage.

Welcome to Part XIX of our Brain Drain trilogy's finale about how to undo the damage of harmful influences and brainwashing. Shawn shares how setting boundaries was a learning experience for both him and his family as he grew up. Boundaries should be taught early on to prevent victimization cycles in that generation as well as the generations that follow. Learning what boundaries are appropriate is a process. And, if you don't have boundaries, it leaves you vulnerable to brainwashing.

See why having a relationship with God, setting/keeping boundaries, and learning about brainwashing early on are key to the prevention of victimization.
