Childish race baiting by the “Gray Lady”.

I caught an article in the NYT the other day. What the hell has happened to the rag? Everyone knows they’ve been snuffling like piglets in the crotch of the Dem party since FDR. But for decades they at least made an effort to cover their tracks with some care in their content. They’d report the stories as news, then argue their bias in the editorial columns. And they allowed Op Eds.

Now as they report stories with a brazenly Left bias, they do it with adolescent zeal! They flash their political titties in news stories and they limit the level of disagreement they will permit from the great unwashed…or from republicans.

Who remembers the reaction to Tom Cotton’s Opinion piece about the many months of riots by Antifa, political organizers and the lowest common denominators in our society? It would have been okay if he had pussy footed around the issue. But he didn’t.

An editor got shitcanned over it. Because the opposition demonstrated in the piece was too direct and honest. We can’t have people running around willy-nilly and speaking their mind in public like that. So a bunch of 20-somethings at the Times, with zero real world experience, cried and whined until instead of getting themselves fired, they got the editor who allowed a forthright opinion to be advanced - fired.

For the record, I had misgivings about the article myself. But I had no issue with the fact that somebody said it. It gave the discussions about the gratuitous looting and violence a whole new avenue of discussion. And it said a lot of the quiet part out loud. Now, I can’t find the original piece. It’s been taken down. It’s been flushed down the memory hole.

Orwell was a god!

Perhaps I’ll create a database of stories you can review to demonstrate how skewed left NYT’s work has become, what a mouth piece they have become. But today, I will stick to their story about a recent SCOTUS decision.

Case in point

Lawmakers in South Carolina did a little redistricting in recent years. The GOP found an area to expand into that might provide them with an advantage.

Naturally, the Dems immediately cried “gerrymandering”. That’s the term EVERYONE in BOTH parties uses every single time the party in power does a snip here and a stretch there to improve their odds of winning an election. There are no exceptions to the rule. The party in power does what they are legally permitted to do, and the party out of power coopts the court system to fight their political battles for them.

I have opinions on how districts should be established. They shouldn’t look like a Rorschach test. They should be based on the incorporation of the towns they touch. Precincts in districts in larger towns should be delineated using straight lines. But that’s just me. Sadly for my state and the nation, I am not a legislator.

The courts, all the way to the Supreme Court, have been tasked with doing the jobs of the legislators. And in a 6-3 decision (the 3 being the actual racists in this case, I’ll explain presently) SCOTUS came down in favor of the new districting map.

And the NYT showed themselves to be race obsessed Lefties in their own subtitle for the story we’re discussing. The Supreme Court decision is in the headline and the subtitle speaks of the decision as if it were a racial affront when they say “when Black voters overwhelmingly favor Democrats.” It seems Black people are the property of the Dems and the GOP should respect that and facilitate it or they will be labeled as “racist” by the actual racists who think Black people should be pigeonholed into a political machine that keeps them on the plantation.

In the case of “blue” cities, it also keeps them in misery.

Think about it. In every single case of redistricting you have different races, different cultures, different religions. Among each group you have a party that dominates and one that does not. But in many areas you do have a binary population of Black and White.

So if you were to move a line around the map to improve your chances in the next election there is an excellent chance you’d be scooping up members of one race and discarding another.

The color of the skin means nothing to politicians, especially among the ones who pretend to care about it. Again - blue cities - they don’t give a crap about any of you. Winning means everything. And if there was a town that happened to be predominantly Black professionals and tradesmen who voted their OWN personal interest, the GOP would be more than happy to absorb them into a GOP district.

In this day and age it would be absurd to think the new districts included no Black, Hispanic, Asian or Lithuanian people in it. There is almost no population centers left in this country that are all one thing.

And the ONLY evidence we have for the GOP’s motivations for redistricting is from the GOP itself. They saw an opportunity to win elections. They said nothing about race in any of their proposals. That was the entirety of the evidence available.

It was the Dems, in what can fairly be called race baiting, who claimed the ability to read minds, and said the motivation was based on race. And that became the basis of their case that went to SCOTUS.

IN the end Clarence Thomas had the best argument on the matter. In his concurring opinion, Thomas opined that SCOTUS should get out of the redistricting business. The cases are often frivolous and blatantly political.

A few decades ago my hometown was absorbed into a different district. Yeadon was an incorporated borough and a part of Delaware County. We had nothing to do with the City of Philadelphia. But a large segment of the city’s Black population had moved into Yeadon in previous years. The Democratic Party saw an opportunity to win there. Why? Because the people moving there were BLACK! But they were also predominantly Democrat.

Which factor dominated? If they were a solid block of Democrat Albanians, an ambitious, smart Dem politician would have made the same move.

When I heard about the redistricting that absorbed Yeadon into a Philly voting district, I was very angry with it. I don’t care about the race issue. Yeadon was Yeadon. I was angry because the interests of Yeadonites were not represented well by politicians in a corrupt and failing city. All Yeadonites of all races should have rejected the idea out of hand. The people who moved to Yeadon didn’t do so to Philly up their new town. But that is what happened.

The NYT article refers to the “bleaching out of Black voters”. What happened in Yeadon? The “inking out of white voters”? Or was it just politics as usual, with all the corruption attached to such programs.

The bottom line argument advanced in this silly article, by what is supposed be the premiere newspaper in the United States, is that when redistricting you must not consider race as an issue, and no members of any race must be affected by the redistricting. Because the people who will inevitably stand against the redistricting will do so based entirely on race.

Make that make sense.

We’re back!

After a week-long battle with my old computer, I finally broke down and bought a new one. (The things I do you you guys!) I hope to have Ron back soon. And I am going to ping Chris Tremoglie for a return visit. He’s got news, but I’ll let him tell you about it.

Reasons we need a major sea-change.

As you browse this list, consider what you hear from the Democrat leaders these days, as well as from the obnoxiously self-righteous Lefty activists on each point. Then assess if I am right.

1. The National Kink Fad

If you vote Democrat this year you will be actively turning your kids over to zealots in your government to groom and recruit your kids into a kinky vision of sexuality as a political movement. Many zealots will also do it for their personal validation and gratification. That is entirely what the trans fad is all about. I suspect the active recruiter and groomers can hardly believe the luck they’ve had in recent years. By hitching a ride on what used to be known as the Gay/Lesbian movement, now an alphabet soup of personal kink, the fad has ensnared “woke” (read shallow) adults to their side who will sacrifice their own kids to be seen as cool.

Don’t get me wrong. I am okay with all kinds of sexuality among adults! More an that later. But is it too much to ask that we let kids finish being kids and learning what they need to learn from their families before pimping them out? They’ll experiment as adolescents, like we all have since the dawn of time. Leave them their innocence.

There is precisely ZERO reason to speak with a 10 year old about whether the kid likes willies or coochies.

Check with your typical Lefty Dem on this. You know what his reaction will be. That’s the first reason to turn Lefty out or prevent him power in the first place.

2. The destruction of ALL of your wealth.

The Left, at the direction of their betters in the UN and the Davos/WEF Cult, will pull you further from a prosperous, self-directed life than they already have. The momentum is quietly moving in this direction even faster than the trans fad has.

Did you know that banks and wealthy individuals in the Davos Cult are buying up not only land, but houses in their thousands. They will rent them to you as they ruin real estate markets across the country. “You will own nothing and you will be happy.” Those are not my words. Those are the words of the Cult and their looney leader, Klaus Schwab. As is the phrase, “The Great Reset.” Their words, not mine.

Property will be for the super wealthy, the governing class (now nearly permanently dug in) and their cronies. It won’t be for YOU. YOU exist to serve THEM. Already young adults have far less chance of ever having their OWN home than the folks before them did. They will be boxed into “smart cities”, electronic prisons, and be told what they’ll eat, how many articles of clothing they can buy and how long they must keep their cell phones and computers. They will live their lives in a rental.

Arup Group is the belly button in an international movement with 180 signatory cities all blindly and eagerly clamoring to use their technology and planning to create enclaves where every aspect of your lives will be tracked and controlled. And Arup is a tentacle of the World Economic Forum. You will own nothing. And with the use of tolls, your phone and electric cars, you will stay put until you are directed to do other.

Don’t believe me? Just take a look across the border in Canada. Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Alberta and many other locations are rapidly pushing ahead. They are installing this technology and creating barriers like $20 toll roads to hem people in, telling them that they will live in a self-contained, “green” utopia. And they are just a year or two ahead of us.

Unless, you vote GOP…then hammer the new officeholder’s tits to flush all this from our economy and society. Doubt me not!

3. More of what you DO have will be theirs as well.

It’s been correctly said that the U.S. government doesn’t have a revenue problem. It’s got a spending problem. I would conservatively guess that 75% of the money the government spends is the result of flimflam (social security, Medicare and Obamacare, etc.) and outright vote buying (college loan forgiveness and Green subsidies). The latter are just things people want to have that they didn’t earn. And the political whores are only too happy to oblige.

Cool stuff from the P4B and Po River.

A new wrinkle in this lunacy is Modern Monetary Theory (MMT). I’ve written about it before. There are people, in positions of authority, who believe we can print all the money we want to, paper and electronic and it won’t matter because we can just adjust interest rates or reduce the value of our currency to offset the printing. It was the same clown car of idiots that brought you the Inflation Reduction Act, triggering inflation, and the Infrastructure Act (providing almost nothing for infrastructure and triggering more inflation.)

These jackasses are growing in number inside the Beltway. Give them just one more term, and you won’t recognize your country or our economy. A few more spending orgies like the two above will set us into a death spiral. The WEF is okay with this. It is one of the things they will create through their government whores that they will later claim to save you from. They have power and money. But all they really need is more power. And the jackasses are eagerly providing it to them.

4. You WILL eat bugs.

You won’t get the complex proteins you now get from beef, pork or chicken.

A lie is being bandied about saying that farming contributes to “climate change”. The UN and the WEF are using that, along with the general destruction of our agricultural sector to control your diet, and control you. Why do you think the Chinese, Bill Gates and the WEF banks, like Vanguard are buying farmland hand over fist?

Only Gates will be farming. For years we’ve been hearing what a selfless guy he is for funding the study of world hunger. Now, he’ll be growing his GMO corn. All those “charitable projects” are now the foundation for his newest enterprises, from which he’ll rake in untold billions. And he’s neck-deep into the bugs for food program. Again, both of these things are scams with which the WEF and their whores will tell you they are saving you.

But they are the cause of the need to be saved. It’s all about next-level money and total control over your lives. When you’re a power hungry nerd like Gates and Schwab and that knob, Al Gore, you masturbate thinking about this kind of power.

5. Back to “green” scams.

If fossil fuels represent damage to the planet, then EVs and wind and solar farms represent the gleeful, rampant rape of the planet. AND as a bonus, we will NEVER turn the corner and see a more “green” world the greedy people like that knob, Al Gore pretend we’ll see. Not using these stupid ideas.

The insane levels of cobalt and lithium needed, most of which the U.S. does not control, now and in the immediate future, will kill third world kids and wreck the environment on a scale exponentially greater than any exploitation we have ever devised.

Further, these material are already in short supply. They are expensive in the best market. “Green” scammers, like that knob, Al Gore, are creating a huge artificial and inefficient demand for cobalt and lithium. That will make them even more precious and give third-rate governments untold power over OUR economy. This is not in the best interest of the United States. But then, neither are the “green” tinker toys they intend to create.

The amount copper, nickle and aluminum needed for all this nonsense is mind-blowing. To reach the goals the political hacks and their cronies in the “green” sector have set, we need to ramp up our production of copper, aluminum and nickle to 7x what we are doing now.

We WILL burn through our known copper and nickle resources in a few years and have to rely on yet “undiscovered” deposits to keep the corrupt, crony, “green” juggernaut rolling along. In other words, we only have theories about where we might find future supplies of this stuff. And using them for windmills and EVs is so inefficient is borders on the utterly pointless.

Certain things are true of all the ores we are discussing. Finding them is becoming a challenge. Yield per ton of dirt and rock is far lower than in the past and processing is more expensive as a result. We NEED copper and aluminum for REAL infrastructure like industrial transformers, power lines and wiring your home. Our grid is years behind demand and deteriorating quickly. We need to change this far more than we need windmills and solar panels blighting the landscape.

6. We will be silenced!

I will use two examples here to discuss how easily we have accepted government intrusion into our lives and how easy we are making it for Uncle Stinky to do so.

As a people we are not monolithic. Groups among us are not. No individual thinks in identical fashion to another. It is this character trait in citizens that makes censorship and punishment for dissenting views imperative to keep the governing class and their cronies in positions of power, and wealth gleaned from YOUR tax dollars.

In recent years we have seen the proliferation of the term “conspiracy theory” used as a socio-political weapon. Leave aside for the moment that the assertions being so labeled have been coming true month in and month out for years now. The epithet can be cleanly defined as anything that disapproves of or rejects the views of the governing class, their media fluffers or the sheep. The sheep are the people who believe, or pretend to believe the nonsense out of tribal loyalty versus reason.

7. How some on the Left has disgraced themselves this year.

Between professional activists, academia and Antifa, the Left has made itself a laughing stock. The lunacy we see on the college campuses these days is almost impossible to believe as we watch it.

I will grant that the majority of people “participating” in this circus are kids who just wanted to be a one-day part of the happening, to get the vibe, be seen in the fad.

But there were the truly stupid “academics” and activists who were front and center of it all. The “Queers for Palestine” get the award for the most stupid of the pack.

But the political whores were especially stupid, and have shown themselves to be desperately bereft of real argument, when they catered to the people who advocated for sadistic terrorists. Barack Obiden has made major tactical and strategic decisions injurious to our interests abroad, to please these activist idiots.

This is the modern Left. Your participation, or lack of it, will decide how much more stupid we become as a nation.

But as I said, none of us, including the sheep, are truly monolithic. No one thinks or acts exactly like anyone else, even within a tribe. I know, for example, my views on say sex or sports would give my fellow Right-wingers agida. I’ll explain to point out the stupidity of attacking dissent as a Lefty today when tomorrow it will be you they go after. The people we’re talking about here don’t care about YOU! They don’t care that you follow them like lemmings. When your day comes, they’ll step on you without the least tug at their conscience.

So how am I different?

I support, nay advocate for, any two or more adults pursuing sexual activity in any form. It is no one else’s business. They are adults with full autonomy. They are out of their formative years and no longer the responsibility of their parents, who HOPEFULLY taught them respect for the wishes of others.

But now some states are OFFICIALLY nosing their way into your sexual proclivities. In Virginia, where boys can use the girls locker rooms and you need to shut up about it, they have started a registry of people who visit adult content websites. You are required by law to register in a database.

This has strong bipartisan support. For some on the Right, it’s vindication of puritanical views.

And the modern Left, of course, there is no degradation of personal liberty they wouldn’t applaud. It’s more than ironic the same people want graphic depictions of sex, including pedophilia in elementary school libraries. Protecting the kids, right? And everyone knows that sex is just white, male privilege made manifest.

Why would they do that? What do they care what people look at in the privacy of their own home?

They say it is to protect kids and keep them from viewing porn. This is, of course, bullshit. Typing on a keyboard whatever the database requires does not actually tell the collecting agency who is REALLY at the keys.

No, this is just one more avenue of collecting your private information, to be stored until such time as the state might need to extort or punish you in some way. It is also tantamount another sex offenders registry. You may have never done anything to anyone against their wishes, but the Commonwealth of Virginia will preemptively track your movements online as if you have.

It is only a matter of time before the database is hacked, or more likely leaked by a political zealot of either side to try and embarrass a citizen. So, in order to avoid facilitating the invasion of the privacy of fellow citizens, the two biggest adult sites have shut down their business in states that require this type of privacy invasion.

Did you ever think you’d see the day when a porn site would be more considerate of you than your government?

But earlier I said what the Left loves might bite them in the ass some day. The pendulum swings, as do opinions. The sex site talk is an extreme, but real example of what I am talking about. Just remember, political parties wax and wane, but data is forever. Be a friend to all mankind. Or one day your browsing habits, or donations, or political views might be turned on you.

This data practice should be ended. Do-gooders should direct their attention to gaming sites and chat rooms where REAL predators prey on kids.

What of my views on sports? Remember as you read this, I am a free-market freak.

While team performance and individual achievement in athletics are admirable traits, the country and the world have gone off the deep end on the money and emotion we waste on grownups who play kids’ games. Is it fun for the fans? Sure. Is it important? Absolutely NOT.

Professional salaries and public funding of sports venues demonstrate how we have skewed our priorities. Fan behavior is also problematic, especially in in international football/soccer. It shows many of us haven’t evolved as much as we should have. While everyone is free to do as they please, the spending and worship we engage in speak not well of us.

I went through that long exercise to demonstrate how my views diverge from many of my right-leaning compatriots. There are a myriad of things on both sides of the political divide where we don’t align with the tribe. Too many of us, especially on the Left pretend to in order to fit in.

But the day always comes when we will have to speak up. And NO ONE will be free from cancellation or ridicule. Already, in Scotland, Ireland and Canada, people who thought their Lefty credentials would protect them when dissenting are being punished by the same people who exploited them to gain power in the first place. That’s what hate speech laws are all about. It isn’t about making the world a better place, it’s about control of EVERYONE.

Conclusion

I could go on for days demonstrating the wrong-headedness of voting Democrat in this age, when the party is run by the lowest common denominator. If you want more, just browse this substack.

But the Left I depict here and throughout the P4B, is the world you will be promoting if you elect or reelect a single Dem this year. I KNOW many who might be inclined to vote “blue” do not think boys can be girls, or babies should be killed in the last trimester, or that Hamas gives the least crap about ordinary Gazans. Look at what the Dems are doing today, then ask yourself if you should be backing them.

Before we get to the main event, I just wanted to mention that it is only May and we are starting to hear warnings of rolling blackouts and brownouts. While we have actively contributed to this reality by adding insanely to the demand on the grid, we have done nothing of substance to expand the aging infrastructure.

Consider, for one example, the growing demands for ELECTRIC LAWN MOWERS. Not only do these things suck with maximum suckiness, but they are a new and growing THING we have to plug into our walls. My co-host, Ron from The Jordan/Cori Show told me his local Home Depot had NO gas powered lawn mowers at the store at the beginning of the season. They are all battery powered lawn mowers.

You can buy gas powered online but that is stupid for two reasons.

* You are buying sight unseen. Just because we’ve all been doing that on Amazon for years doesn’t make it smart, especially with a large item like a riding mower.

* The gas mowers, when ordered will now be shipped in onesies and twosies to stores when they are ordered by individual customers. Talk about willful inefficiency. They should be made available in larger numbers, along with their stupid electric counterparts, all shipped in bulk, where the customer can take it home - what retailers call the last mile. Customers would be doing that anyway.

More absurdity.

Unless you live under a rock, you’ve heard that the Blob is conspiring to deprive you of gas stoves and gas water heaters. Some states are already doing this. If you’ve been with me for a while, you’ve heard me explain in detail what kind of a “neighborhoods” the government and their WEF cult leaders (the Blob) are trying to create across the country.

Imagine, if you will, your town suffers a serious blackout. In our case it was an ice storm. Power was down for a week. But because we all had at least some gas appliances, and I had a small generator, we were all able to eat, bath and wash our clothes. It was actually a challenging and fun situation.

Now imagine the same power failure with no gas hot water heaters, no gas generators, gas stoves or gas grills. Can you see the intentional stupidity emerging here?

Additionally, we now have “smart meters”. In my area we are required to have one or pay a significant penalty for not doing so. Leaving aside the unconstitutional government/crony overreach, these are little electronic spies. If you don’t have a mando “smart meter”, you soon will. The idea is to create households that can be shut down at the whim of the Blob. Run your AC more than a government Karen says you should, and click, you will be punished. The power YOU PAY FOR will be taken from you.

And the hit just keep on coming.

Adding further to the demands on a grid that was already underwater, we have the Electric Vehicle (EV). This remarkably stupid and NOT green “green” scam is on the government/crony fast track when it isn’t even ready for wide use.

First, why are they not “green”, not even close? Not only are these EVs loaded with monosodiumnastyshit like cobalt and lithium in inordinate amounts for the application, but with the carbon “footprint” created by their manufacture, mostly in the manufacture of the batteries, we create a car that spends the first several years of it’s life less “green” than my Ram 2500. At 6 or 7 years, with normal driving they are as green or a little greener than an IC car. But three years later, they need new batteries and their carbon footprint goes back almost to the day they hit the showroom. And the cycle starts again. They might reach a third owner, but will more than likely end up in a hideous landfill, having never been AS “GREEN” than my Ram.

But all these electric tinker toys will have another deleterious impact on progress. Each one, mower, car, wind farms, solar farms, heater coils created en masse and forced on the population will eat up more copper, aluminum and nasty shit than we are certain that we can mine and process. This is especially true of wind farms. Crazy amounts of copper.

We don’t NEED any of these items. Some of us have been convinced to WANT them, but they are not needed. What we DO NEED is to improve and radically expand our industrial base and thereby our electrical grid. That is where we NEED the copper and aluminum and in huge quantities.

But the government/crony Blob says you need EVs, all-electric appliances and battery (read coal and natural gas) mowers. They know what I know. They know what YOU now know. But geez, guys, there is so much money to be made and kickbacks to be paid!

While you are taking it in the short to support politicians and cronies, that same Blob will blame you and your personal climate control when they run out of electrical capacity! And they will, with greater frequency and in more areas that never had the problem before.

Watching Karine Jean-Pierre, who I call Little Orphan Annie, lie from the podium, day in and day out, I am reminded of poor Jay Carney. Orphan Annie’s tell is the Morse code that involuntarily flashes from her shiny eye makeup every time she is telling a prepared whopper or is completely flummoxed and groping for something to say. The latter happens as much as the former, several times in every daily session.

I want to play poker with James Carney.  I want to see him throw a handful of blue chips after drawing two cards.  Then I want to watch that little turd's left, upper lip fold back and his head drift down and to the left when he declares his bet.

Carney came to this White House via the Duh Biden campaign after carrying the party water at TIME magazine.  And that lip has been rolling back ever since; in a big way over the last two days.  The administration has elected to say that the email covering up Hillary Clinton's depraved indifference to the safety of our people in Benghazi was actually about the protests carried out the previous day in other cities around the region.  Protests that no one cared a lick about by 10:00PM on 11 Sep 2012.

To his credit, it is clear that Carney doesn't believe a word he is saying.  The rolling lip attests to that every single time.  To his everlasting discredit, he doesn't have the nuts to stand on his hind legs and say. "This is indefensible bullshit and I'm not going to be the face of it!"

And so the lip curls.  If I were sitting across the table from him at that moment, I'd go all in and clean his clock.

But there is a larger question that the democratic party is betting you are too ignorant to grasp.  You see, they are happy to trot poor Carney out day after day to argue talking points.  If they ever get really busted on the talking points issue, they know they will get away with it.  They have no conscience or concern about lying to EVERYONE about ANYTHING.  It is the straight line between their neglect (Benghazi) or design (Fast and Furious).  In these cases, they will argue the secondary points all day long, even when they know they'll lose; perhaps even especially so.  Because they know if they can play rope-the-dope with people like Boehner and McConnell, they get away with actually getting people killed, quite predictably, by their own actions.  With the IRS scandal, they keep discussion on minutia.  With Obamacare, they are happy to take the slings and arrows about the shitty roll-out, because the bigger story is the irrevocable damage the entire program will do the the economy and to us.  When conversation gets to close to the larger truths, Barry's Bullshit Brigade will bring up lesser failures to dumb down the conversation.  And YOU let them.

This assortment of spunky, snarky, quirky non-leaders are counting on their mastery of the one-liner and YOUR laziness to carry them through their term in some semblance of peace so they can move on to their speakers' fees and honorariums.  In Obama's case he is praying that his heiress apparent - Hillary - will survive.  He will buy property in DC and spend his time interfering in her administration a la Putin, until he lacks breath.  But for all this to be so, you, dear reader must pull a Carney.  You must tuck your tail, curl your lip and say something inane like. "Oh, they all do it."  But we all know, they don't ALL do it; not on this level.  But these people do. ______________________________________________________________________________Update: It was just a few days after this went out that Jay Carney announced his resignation.  You have witnessed the power of streetpolitics.us!!!…And probably a hundred other blogs and commentaries.  But hey, I'm sure this is the one that brought him down.  Muah-haha!

I May Be Losing Touch With Reality!

I never thought I'd see the day that I'd miss these two people.  I remember when they did their jobs, I was left thinking that sticking needles in my eyes would be more fun than listening to them.  But I should be more careful for that which I wish.

The Previous Migraine

The first of these two talking crucibles is Sean Hannity.  When he first reached national prominence, he was almost acceptable.  You could tell he wasn't the sharpest tool in the box, but he was personable and self-depricating in a genuine and funny way.  But soon after getting his own radio gig, he got arrogant and lazy.  The arrogant part was the most grating.  He was too far below par to have ever let go of his original "aw shucks" personae.  He developed a pathetic phony laugh and wouldn't have had a show but for the Drudge Report.

He is also a terrible interviewer.  When you don't want to know what a guest has to say, just watch Hannity or catch his radio show.  He filibusters, then asks some of the most blatantly loaded Have-you-stopped-beating-your-wife questions.  His unfortunate guest would get two words out and Hannity would be off again.  He's like O'Rielley without the presence.  (Full disclosure:  I dislike O'Reilly for the same reasons. O'Reilly should do his opening commentary and sign off every night.)

I used to get empathetically embarrassed for Hannity when he'd run out of material while interviewing any liberal.  You would know this because he'd shout,  "What about Bill Ayres?  What about Jeremiah Wright?" And he'd be totally out of context.  I haven't watched his TV show for a while, but I imagine he still does it.

A Migraine on Steroids

 So it was such a relief to hear that WMAL was taking his drive-time slot away.  That is radio prime-time.  It belongs to talented, interesting people.  Little did I know how much worse a drive time talk show could be.  Enter Michael Savage.  As a radio host, he is the worst of all worlds.  He is unfocused.  He can barely maintain a train of thought unless he is reading someone else's work, or worse, his own.  He reads passages (long ones) from his own books frequently, peppering the segments with claims about how he never reads his own stuff on the air because he really hates to do so.  He frequently misses points his callers are making and launches into the most ignorant rants that not only grate, but often leave the caller and listeners frustrated.  He frequently blots out the seeds of great points that could have been made.

His most ludicrous attribute is his claim to have discovered everything and to have been the first to have explained it all.  About some of the most mundane and stale topics he'll say something like, "You (the listener) don't know this.  Only I know this.  And I will explain it to you."  The emphasis on "I" is his.

When I say stuff like that, it’s a joke. See above. When he says it, it’s self-adulation.

Marry all this to a stereotypical New York accent and the most whiney, self-important delivery you are ever likely to hear from a paid radio personality and you have what many Americans hear during every evening commute.  I have tuned in recently to see if this clown had a single redeeming quality worth mentioning for this article.  I quickly return to oldies or even subject myself to NPR (whichever of their radio stations' isn't trying to sell me a coffee mug for $75).

Is it possible that I actually miss Hannity?!

A Glimmer of Hope?

 There is a rather witty and interesting talk jock, Larry O'Connor who has been co-hosting the morning drive with Brian Wilson, unarguably the gentleman journalist of DC.  O'Connor came to WMAL from Breitbart and has been doing a bang-up job in a chair that has changed hands quite a few times over the years.  For a few months now, in addition to his morning show, O'Connor has been bumping Savage from his third hour, every night with show called "The Drive at Five." It's not exactly a title you precede with a drum roll.  But it is bloody good radio.  O'Connor holds his own very nicely, has good "gets" to interview and makes the hour fly by.  I now find myself tuning into WMAL to check and see if he is on yet.  If I hear a jackass talking about his digestive disorders or demonstrating a complete misunderstanding of some of the most common events, I know O'Connor isn't on yet.

I'd like to respectfully request WMAL find a new sidekick for Wilson and give Larry his own gig from 3-6 every afternoon.  But for the love of knowledge and reason, dump Savage.  He makes the station look stupid.  Even Hannity would be an improvement, but there is enough real talent out there that you shouldn't have to bring Hannity back.  You could try putting the Conservative Black Chick, Chrystal Wright on with Wilson in the morning and O'Connor in the afternoon.

From the Weird to the Absolutely Hysterical

 The other guy I miss is Jay Carney.  He makes appearances here and there, now and then, commenting on the issues of the day.  But that isn't the same as watching his lip curl from the White House podium.  I found him an annoyance on his best day.  Little could I know that his replacement would make him appear almost human; hell, practically likable.

The present WH press secretary is Josh Earnest (now there's a name for you). This guy is the most self-righteous, grating, smug spokesbitch to ever disgrace the podium.  Don't you want to just whole-hand him across the side of his head him every time he opens his smarmy mouth?   He is perfect for this administration.  For Carey's part, you knew when he was lying, something he did every single day, because his lip would curl.  At least he had enough dignity to be uncomfortable with the task.  But Earnest?  He glides through the cesspool of crap like a ballerina.  And if any of the two or three REAL journalists in the room DARE to question his endless stream of crap, he is nakedly condescending.  First you lie, then you condescend.  A perfect fit for the entire administration.

I would like to offer my sincere apology to every American for being personally responsible for the downfall of Carney and the rise of Earnest.

Okay, okay!  So MAYBE it wasn't this blog that was ENTIRELY responsible.  But I still feel bad.  I feel especially guilty when I think of the fake reporters who not only sit through the gelatinous flow of feces that stinks up the press room; they have to pretend to believe it and THEN write or talk about it.  Poor, illegitimate bastards.   (Wait…that was redundant, but not.  I am really not questioning their parentage, only their professional ethics and total lack of skepticism.)

If anyone sees Jay, tell him I'm sorry and the poker invitation still stands.
