There’s something we missed.

I had an amazing conversation with Professor Michael Stroud last week. Find PART 1 HERE. PART 2 HERE. It was an excellent discussion ranging from 1849 almost to present day. We beat up a few personalities in the process.

I glossed past an important point when discussing the Battle of Chillianwala with Professor Stroud this week. In that battle, the British sent a Pickett-like charge across hundreds of yards and into a forest. They lacked intel as to what to expect. They were mauled by the waiting Sikhs.

Of all the lessons we should have drawn from that battle, this seems the most obvious. But Americans would charge into the unknown thickets again and again throughout history. The two that pop into mind are the Hurtgen Forest and the Wilderness.

The latter would leave Ulysses Grant in tears, swearing not to pull a stunt like that again. Hurtgen was a meatgrinder. American troops met a large, entrenched, German force there with ALL the ground dialed in by artillery. Some units returned and were sent back in more than once. Contact was lost with entire divisions. Major formations ceased to be effective fighting forces.

Both could have been bypassed. The waste of life was shocking. We’d see similar charges without proper intelligence and piss poor communication by the British at the Somme in WWI.

What do they teach at military academies and war colleges these days? Diversity? For future military officers and those serving. Learn your military history and read dispatches. You’ll be a better officer for it.

Mobbed up union boss babbles.

There is so much BS coming from this mobbed up union boss here. Who said you can't have NPR? They can stay in business. If their stuff is so valuable people will pay to see it. I know I watch some of their stuff. My wife does. What the GOP is saying is that there should not be government sanctioned and subsidized media.

They can even keep their names. "National", "Public"...They're just names. They already live off corporations and rich donors. We just don't want our tax dollars funding propaganda. Hell, if they wanted to make a killing, they could put their store online selling mugs and dvds and network gear for a few bucks rather than $40 per month and they'd make much more money by volume! My wife would love a Downton coffee mug. But not for $25 per month! That's a sucker move!

Newspapers she speaks of are going out of business because people prefer to get their news electronically. That has nothing to do with the government. It has everything to do with marketability in a free market. TV networks are suffering the same fate. Maybe if they tried nude news babes they'd get some viewers back. But their audience wouldn't be watching for the news content so that would kind of kill the effort. But they'll have to come up with something fresh if they are to survive.

And actually, the newspaper argument is pure bullshit anyway. Only the irretrievably stupid papers went out of business by NOT starting an online version of their product. They have loyal readers because people like their style. But more and more people don't want ten pounds of newsprint to "recycle" every week.

And she is still advocating for the grooming of kids. Why? Does SHE want to supply grade school kids books that depict boys giving men BJs? Why would she want that? Why does SHE want to foist sexuality and BJ pics on kid? Hmmm. And how does that contribute to the education of our kids?

Weingarten is a socialist pig of the first order. She cares about politics and lining her pockets. She doesn't give a rat's ass about the rank and file members. And she DAMN SURE doesn't give a shit about kids. She's in the game for power (all socialists are), and she's in it for her skim of the union dues. She crawled out of the same corrupt slime as BJ Bill’s wife.

The Flesh-Eating Disease

One of my favorite places to relax on the beach is the Gulf Coast. While I lived there, we’d hear reports of a flesh eating bacteria in the water and red flags would go up on the beach - swim at your own risk.

The critter is called Vibrio vulnificus. It can cause anything from a server skin infection to the need for amputation to even death. There have been 8 deaths this year. The average is 1. I used to ignore the warning and wade into the gulf. If I was down there now, I might be a bit more cautious. Eight is a low number since millions of people swim in the gulf every day. But it’s damn sure a lottery you want to win.

Kinzinger is crying again!

As usual, Kinzinger is out again talking nonsense. The upshot of his recent substack is that Trump is forwarding information about criminal actions on the part of the Obama administration as a smoke screen to cover up Trump’s involvement with Epstein.

And as usual, his article is so packed with stupidity that I can’t possibly cover it all here. So we’ll pick out some beauties for you.

Given Russia’s status as a major intelligence threat, a probe was inevitable. But Obama also ordered that the investigation remain secret so it wouldn’t influence the election. That’s exactly what happened.

Oh, oopsie, Adam. Obama definitely kept it all under wraps. But that Russia’s status as a major threat was NOT the reason. The Obama cabal already knew, as we all knew (I exclude stupid people who might have missed it), that the Russian interference amounted to extremely amateurish social media campaigns.

We know a few more things as well. From following the silly posts and listening to our intelligence people (professionals - not hacks like Brennan and Clapper) AND Dutch intelligence, the Russians really didn’t give a shit who won in 2016. They did know that BJ Bill’s wife was pliable. They’d bought her off several times over the years. And intel indicates they planned to drop the bomb about Hillary being a high grade nut job AFTER she was innaugurated. Or they might have threatened to drop it to get her cooperation at a discount (BJ Bill’s wife doesn’t sell out the nation for peanuts!).

We also know, thanks to the new data dump, that Obama was hiding the information from US and the political opposition. While all this was going on, Loretta Lynch, another member of the cabal was reporting back to Hillary on the status of the investigation into her and how things were going in the effort to sink Trump. After all, it was Hillary’s campaign who initially paid for the fake information later used by the government to frame Trump. It would only be fair that the government report back to her and her campaign as to how it was coming along.

The documents Gabbard released include a previously declassified report by House Republicans—declassified personally by Trump—that questioned some of the Obama administration’s conclusions. It alleged that intelligence officials did not meet “professional criteria” but notably did not allege treason or mention the word “coup.”

Is Kinzinger really as stupid as I accuse him of being? Or is he assuming we are stupid? Two things are true about how the House report viewed the “evidence” used in Crossfire Hurricane. One is that the phony intel was absolutely NOT the product of professional effort. But simply saying it did not meet “professional criteria” is just a simple understatement. It was nonsense cooked up in a bar to fulfill the requirement of the Clinton Campaign to make up dirt on DJT. Very unprofessional. It was a stack of lies.

And, Adam, if I was watching an Eagles game and said they just put 6 points on the board, you can’t tell people nothing happened at all because I didn’t say the word touchdown. By listing the things the House did find, we now know that the thing we strongly suspected about the Russia hoax is officially true. It matters not whether the word “coup” appears in the documents or not. But there was certainly enough to refer a criminal finding to the DOJ. The lack of guts on the part of Congress does not in any way vindicate the cabal or Adam’s stupidity.

There’s nothing in the material Gabbard released that supports her wild accusations. Serious national security experts—including conservative stalwart and former Trump National Security Advisor John Bolton—dismissed her claims outright. “She’s imagined evidence that doesn’t exist,” Bolton said.

The material, Adam, list the accusations. The only concrete evidence we’ve ever discussed IS the very files Trump declassified and Tulsi released. Her comments were just amplification of what we already knew and now were having confirmed on the record.

And John Bolton is about a reliably “conservative” as Bill Kristol. Bolton is the only neocon I know who has never called himself a neocon (to my knowledge). He and Kristol are overly sensitive, vindictive, weak sisters - like you, Adam. They see difficulty or get a bee in their bonnet over someone close, they turn on them, as you did when you started putting hickies on Nancy Pelosi’s wrinkled butt.

Fact-checkers and independent journalists have also torn her case apart. What Gabbard’s campaign actually reveals is how even national security issues—once immune from partisan warfare—have now been sucked into the Trumpian vortex. Even former presidents, once treated with bipartisan respect, are now targets.

“Fact checkers” and “journalists” happily carried the water for Brennan, Comey, BJ Bill’s wife, and the rest of the Obama cabal. They knew they were being spoon-fed a load of shit. They happily ate it and regurgitated it on the public. They never exercised the least professional curiosity or skepticism. They were stenographers for the Democrat party.

Outlets who strayed furthest from the truth and did exactly as they were told by the cabal won awards, including a Pulitzer. And NO ONE has torn apart anything Tulsi has said. In fact, since her release more has come out, not only affirming what Gabbard released, but added more damning detail to the crimes of the Obama administration and the senior members of the intelligence community.

And late in the quote the crybaby’s real motive is made plain. “We are in a Trumpian vortex”. That is what Adam calls it when yet another “conspiracy theory” is proven correct, in this case, chapter and verse.

Lynch, Comey, Clapper, Hillary, Brennan, Obama and a host of next level scum bags are now caught red-handed. They wasted years of our time lying about something they knew was unadulterated bullshit. They knew this because Hillary paid to have it manufactured and coopted Comey and Brennan to shop it out to friendly “news” people.

Trump abandoned the idea of respect long ago. In 2017, he accused Obama of illegally wiretapping his phones. In 2020, he called it “treason” and said that traitors used to be executed. After Gabbard made her accusations, Trump chimed in again: “Obama was trying to lead a coup.”

Trump, who everyone knows is a poor communicator, accused them of wiretap. But he knew he was being hacked. The government admitted that monitoring communications of the Trump campaign, including Trump tower, was a part of the phony circus known as Croossfire Hurricane. Trump was right, he just blurted out an outdated term. But that is the kind of half-truth people like Crybaby Kinzinger cling to when they see their tribe getting properly slapped down.

And yes, through leaking false information, coordinating a false legal attack on the sitting President of the United States, all in an effort to collapse the presidency and try to seize power themselves, these low life, criminal SCUM absolutely did commit acts of treason and in many cases perjury. A ballsy prosecutor can make it all stick. But it is hard to say at this point if we have the requisite testicularity in DC to take things to their logical conclusion. One can hope.

Brenan and Comey are the easiest targets. Some say the statue of limitations has run out on their clear perjury. BUT…when the perjury is realized by authorities and what the perjury was spporting, in this case treason, the SOL limitations become fuzzy.

As I’ve said before, regardless of what DC pursues or doesn’t pursue against this merry band of assholes, it is incumbent upon all of us to hound all of them, including their loyal lessers like McCabe, Paige, Strzok, Plauffe, Jarrett (the real power in the Obama white House) and Rice. Every time one of these people gets a job selling popsicles, we should be in the face of anyone low enough to hire them. Comey and BJ Bill’s wife should be run out of their present jobs immediately!

Yeah…but…but…Epstein!

And this time, he’s jumping in to help distract from the firestorm surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein files, which have dominated headlines all summer. Trump and his allies want to change the subject—and what better way than accusing a former president of treason?

And finally, we have Adam jumping onboard the new Epstein talking point. He always was a follower. Let’s put that one to bed right now and forever.

This is just another phony campaign, like the one we’ve been discussing, intended to again discredit a sitting president. These assholes have no off button. Adam knows it and he is too happy to play along. Adam lacks basic dignity.

But even Adam knows this: If there had ever been a whiff of evidence that Trump was involved in the kiddie diddling Epstein and friends are known for, Biden would have released that information on day one and it would have been banner headlines for a year to follow. But that didn’t happen, because there IS NO evidence.

Please, if you’ve been teetering on the edge worrying about this, don’t prove yourself to be as stupid as the Democrat party hopes you are. Have more pride than Adam.

A rookie is crushin’ it for the A’s

Our sports guy, Ron Cori checked in this morning, talking about rookie, Nick Kurtz. This kid had a whale of a game against the Astros. He went 6 for 6, hitting a single, a double and 4 home runs. He crossed the plate 6 times and had 8 RBIs. He accounted for 19 bases in the game.

He’s the only rookie in MLB history to hit 4 homers in a single game. The crowd got one hell of a show and both dugouts were left shaking their heads by the second home run.

And he’s practically a home boy. he grew up in lancaster, PA. The Phils should take a long look at their roster.

Tulsi knocks one out of the park.

It’s been an okay week for Justice. But it’s only a tiny start. There is much work left to be done if we are to see it through. In her data dumps on Friday and Monday, Tulsi Gabbard VERIFIED a lot of things we already knew, but few were willing to come to grips with.

We learned, from actual intelligence sources, something the Russia hoax and the resulting Senate report were completely devoid of, that BJ Bill’s wife is truly crazy. We all heard how shitty she was with people who didn’t perform flawlessly, or people who had the temerity to speak their minds. Her tirades were the stuff of legend. He treatment of BJ Bill’s girls was despicable. Any honest person who would hear that would have to allow that this is not a person to be admired - certainly not to be elected president.

We also learned from actual intelligence sources that Russia was confident of a Hillary victory, had zero interest of helping Trump, and they intended to drop a psycho bomb about Clinton after she was inaugurated. The amateurish social media campaign they ran, intended to sew discontent - AND SUCCEEDING, was aimed at helping neither candidate in 2016.

What the Russians found out, and now we learn, is she had to take tranquilizers to control “psychotic” rages. Add to that the day drinking, the pathological lying, and her imperious and sociopathic attitude at State, and we can all agree that we dodged a bullet by NOT electing her.

We learned that John Brennan is a serial perjurer, who often lied to the media as well. The second part is hardly significant as the media, knowing better, carried his water for years.

Funny thing, perjury. The statute of limitations is based on the discovery of the crime and what it might impact. The date of the crime, considering the number of occasions and other behavior, doesn’t necessarily mean as much as they would if you were to perhaps commit a single act of wire fraud. So, Brennan and Comey might not be able to brush this one off.

Comey and Clinton both have jobs teaching college kids about good governance. Since actions speak louder than words, and in this case would set the shittiest of examples for our young adults, neither one of these creeps should be speaking to college students in an official capacity beyond Monday morning.

We learned that Loretta Lynch, Barry O’s AG, was providing information about an official investigation to the Clinton campaign. This occured even before she met with BJ Bill to discuss her plan to get Hillary off the hook for the illegal use of an unsecured server and destroying evidence.

The latter is my assertion. They didn’t arrange a private sit-down, in a private plane, at an airport to discuss grandkids. We all know that was a lie. And they had little else to talk other than Hillary’s crimes. So yeah, I’ll stick to my far more likely assumption. It’s the same assumption everyone came away with, including the media flutters who actively defended the meeting.

All this was in support of an overarching series of crimes committed against, and to the harm of, the United States of America. Treason has no statute of limitations.

We need to treat these people like any other criminals. We need to start with the weakest among the cabal of Obama, Biden, Rice, Brennen, Clapper, Hillary, Comey, McCabe, and all their senior staff people. Give one or two immunity (not all of them, as Comey had done, to queer the Clinton investigation). Break one of them. Let’s have some truth!

The value of this weeks revelations will only be as good as the follow-through. Win or lose, the scum named above need to be held up to contempt and possibly prosecution. All should spend the remainder of their lives in abject disgrace in the eyes of thinking Americans (which exempts a major portion of the voting public). At a minimum, none of them should be trusted to work again - anywhere.

The Pillow Guy continues to welch on a bet.

We had a very interesting guest on for Episode 12 of the Free Zone Communique. His name is Bob Zeidman. He took up a five million dollar challenge to disprove claims made by Mike Lindell regarding the election. Bob did so. And Mike Lindell welched. A court and an arbitration proceeding said Lindell needed to pay up. Well, Lindell appealed again. Now the 8th circuit court says he can welch on the bet - not because he won the bet, he didn’t - but because the court says the arbitrators overstepped their authority. I’d have to read the court record to decipher that one.

What it comes down to is Lindell will welch on a wager. Pretty sleazy. But think about it. You’ve seen his commercials. He probably has an okay product. And he “slashes” prices the same way sleazy furniture stores we used to see on TV, going out of business every week for 22 years, would “slash” theirs. In other words, he can sell his stuff for less than half of what he lists it at, and make a great profit. That’s the kind of “discount” a welcher would provide his customers.

He’s also got the crucifix hanging from his collar in his commercials and now tells a story of drug addiction in his past. I believe neither. I’d like to see Bob appeal and sue for legal fees. But Bob’s a fairly nice guy. He might just let it go and let us see Lindell for the guy he really is.

Thailand and Cambodia

I didn’t see this one coming. On Thursday Cambodia and Thailand started lobbing shells at each other. Evidently there is a patch of ground, I know not how strategic, both countries have claimed for some time now. Why they chose now to fight over it will be something we will learn by and by.

In the course of one week five famous people assumed room temperature.

Malcolm Jamal Warner

Connie Francis.

Get used to weeks like this. In previous generations, there were fewer celebrities - serving a smaller population. Now, anybody can become a major name - even Hulk Hogan. Because of the proliferation of just the IDEA of celebrity, we will see a marked increase in the number of big name funerals in coming years. That will last for a couple of decades anyway.

Of the five, I’ll miss two the most. Connie Francis was a bit ahead of my time. Although the older kids were still slow dancing to Where the Boys Are when I was in grade school. And Who’s Sorry Now had a bit of a revival when my age group enjoyed a fifties and sixties revival thanks to the movie American Graffiti.

Malcolm Jamal Warner hit the big time as Bill Cosby’s kid, Theo Huxtable in The Cosby Show. But more recently he played Julius Rowe in Suits and my favorite supporting role in the streaming series, Sneaky Pete. He played James Barkwell. Barkwell saw life in a simple way. You were an eagle or shit bird. It was easy to see Warner had fun in the role. He was also a writer, director and a musician.

Chuck Mangione was my main man. I learned to play the trumpet (cornet, actually) listening to Chicago albums and Mangione’s Feels So Good. There’s not a less-than-great track on that album. Listen to it and tell me it doesn’t evoke great memories of a late nights in nameless bars or simple basic emotion.

In keeping with a recurring theme, saluting the Army and Navy’s 250th, I will have a military historian on the Free Zone next Friday. His name is Michael Stroud, a history professor. I’ll touch on all manner of military history. But I’ll also ask about a very obscure, 19th century battle that had lasting impacts on military thinking ever since.

SPORTS

It’s that time of year again. When I and my wife binge our favorite events. We catch Wimbledon, the Tour de France and the Open Championship of Golf (British Open).

It’s been a pretty fun year so far. As of this writing, Wimbledon is in the can. Nobody does the sport of kings like England.

The finals were colorful to say the least. The women’s final ended with lots of tears on the part the American, Anisimova. While quietly killing it in qualification, she was dropped in straight sets and in straight games. I don’t recall such a sound ass-kicking in a Wimbledon final.

At one point she looked down and said, “OMG! This isn’t my tennis racket! This is my pickle ball paddle!” Not really, but that would have explained a lot. Anisimova cried through the last break, the last two games and her entire speech after the match.

Someone needs to remind this girl she just took second at the friggin’ premier tennis tournament. Wills and Kate were there for Chrissake!

At the awards ceremony, the winner, Swaitek said nice things. But we knew what she REALLY meant. “Cry me river, leetle girl! You are sad because I get big beautiful dish and you get plain little dish. Go sit in corner with your leetle American pickle ball paddle.”

I was happy with the men’s final. That was between Alcaraz of Spain and the Italian, Sinner. I’ve seen Alcaraz before, but I don’t recall seeing Sinner. Alcaraz always reminds me of the whiney bitch song writer in That Thing You Do! He’s a great athlete, but for some reason, I always root against him. And I do like it when a talent I don’t know rises up. So I was pulling for Sinner…who almost blew the match several times.

As it turns out, Sinner has a record comparable to Alcaraz’s. So it was a good match, with Sinner pulling off the win.

Overall, a good year for Wimbledon fans.

The 2025 Tour de France

As of this writing, we are through stage 13. In the early going I was seeing lots of new names. While I like to see up and comers in any sport, there is always something comforting to hear Bob Liggett talking about the vets.

And as the tour progresses, the old standard bearers are rising back to the top. Pogacar, Vingagaard, Roglic, Yates. Sadly, names like Cavendish, Froome, and Thomas are now memories.

Despite a crash in Stage 11, which included a long slide and a collision with a curb, Pogacar is in the catbird seat right now. To be leading at this stage is a good omen for the Tour title, but anything can happen and some of the killer climbs are still ahead.

British Open

The Open Championship is underway. It will be in the can by the time you see this.

Scottie Schffler is, as always, killing it. In 10th place when he teed off today, at -3, Scheffler had 1 bogey and 8 birdies! He finished at -10. Let’s see if he can add yet another major to his record. Rory, my favorite golfer, is not having a banner showing as yet. And he’s not always great down the stretch, so I’m not holding my breath. But wouldn’t it be too cool!

Hatton has done some nice approach work and putting. And Ricky Fowler, although not doing very well, is still the best-dressed 13 year old on the tour with a peach fuzz mustache.

My namesake is -2 right behind Rory. C’mon brother. Don’t shame the name!

My Fani!

And Fani Willis is back in the news baby! [music] She continues to be handed defeat after defeat. If you remember, she was yanked from the Trump case in Fulton County after behavior that might make her New York doppelgänger, La-tittie-ah James blush. She’s a terrible lawyer who hired an even worse lawyer, her boyfriend, to “prosecute” the case. Well, she appealed a number of decisions that went against her and the courts just keep on laughing at her.

To add to the diminishment of her image, Georgia just passed a bill under which they will reimburse all defendant involved with the Willis case for their legal expenses. Fani’s behavior will cost the state a pretty penny.

At some point her friends, if she has any left, might suggest for the sake of her dignity, she give up pursuit of the phony RICO case and resign. I don’t suppose fighting will hurt her politically, her constituents all seem to buy her racist schtick, and they suffer from TDS. But in the professional world, she’s an embarrassing punchline.

And speaking of La-tittie-ah James, I wonder how her case is coming along. She’s under investigation for real estate fraud. I so hope they take her down. But she’s well-connected, inside the wire, in a dirty Blue city, so I might be disappointed.

American Surrender Monkeys

I often call Vichy France, during WWII the “surrender monkeys”. They didn’t even have the good taste to pretend to resist the Germans. They ACTIVELY assisted in the removal of Jews from France to the camps. They were ass-kissers and appeasers on an epic international scale.

Today, on the Left, naked, pathetic, suicidal surrender seems to be all the rage. People like Kier Starmer and his Liberal mob in the UK can’t give away their nation and heritage fast enough. They exhibit absolutely no sense of shame. Lefty governments all over Europe have permitted millions of ungrateful foreigners to shit all over what used to be beautiful countries. Google the beautiful beaches of Belgium today.

And we have more than our share of surrender monkeys in the US. Governor Kathy Hochul and Mayor Eric Adams have given away New York. Karen Bass and Hair Gel Newsom have raised stupid to a science. They won’t rest until every last vestige of California, except for where they and the show folk live, looks like Detroit.

En masse, our entire Democrat Party is actively fighting to eliminate the American culture, which they wouldn’t understand, even if their schools had taught them anything about it. They rally to raise up people and religions that WILL eliminate them first, in the event the United States starts to look like Western Europe. When Muslim rapists and murderers, already a problem in this country form gangs, as they do in the EU, they’re not going to ask your daughter if she is LGBT etc, or if she protested for or against Hamas. They’ll just rape her, and maybe kill her, because the religion of peace tells them they can.

Thank people like Gretchen Whitmer - an intense lunatic, Brandon Johnson, Lori Lightfoot, Kathy Hochul, Eric Adams, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Hakeem Jeffries and the rest of the Lefty mob. Thank any voting Democrat. But for them, the problem with illegals and the filth, and the overcrowding, and the freebies, and the crime, would be an entirely European problem right now.

You need to understand, these people haven’t committed these crimes against their own people in a vacuum. None of them govern from competence. They ALL pretend to govern while creating more and more power and money for themselves and their party. They spend all of their time growing their brand by tearing down every last vestige of sound economics and American values they can.

The idea is to grow numbers in Blue shit holes, gain representation for their own party to assume, make the Blue shit holes worse than they are right now. Then they’ll employ the strategy THEY, THEMSELVES have been working toward for decades now. They read 1984 and Atlas Shrugged, looked at what the government in those books did and said, “Damn! This could work!”

Gavin Newsom doesn’t see Orwells warnings as cautionary. He sees them as a blueprint to amass more power unto himself, and his betters in the party, and the Davos/WEF cult. That is what motivates ALL the people I’ve mentioned, and every last skull full of mush with degrees in Women’s Studies, Poli-Sci and DEI.

The idea is to take the nation, or at least the Blue shit holes down to such a point that the people will accept anything other than the life they have been dragged down to. And then, the Lefty cult will “save” them by creating their “smart cities”. With the exception of “Potemkin” neighborhoods, these cities will be as dull and grey as any city Stalin created, but the people will praise their prison custodians because there will be less crime and the average citizen will have no decisions to make. Their lives, work, schools, stores, doctors, recreation, will exist in a 15-minute wide, electronic holding pen. They’ll have their bug paste and lab chicken to eat. They will “own nothing and they will be happy.”

As Stalin did with his Potemkin villages, and the NAZIs did with Theresianstadt propaganda. The early, Blue “smart cities” will have shiny, slick, ultramodern enclaves set up. They will actually be populated with party drones who will happily participate in the presentation of their ecstasy, comfort and general pleasure with life. It will be like living in Vegas with an aura of righteousness blanketing all. By the time YOU realize it’s all for show, you’ll be billeted in your crowded apartment building, serviced with he same government efficiency we see today, eating your bug paste. It will be too late to do anything about it. And, of course, since it’s run by the government, there will be rampant crime and corruption.

With cameras everywhere, tightly controlled transportation, spending restrictions, cell phones…you won’t be able to make a move without Big Brother’s say so. Yo won’t even be allowed to express your unhappiness without risking the government’s wrath.

But wait! There’s more! With the emergence of exhibitionist, often radical Islam now exploding in high population centers, The lunatics with the levers of power will be the Imams and people like Zohran Mamdani! So, forced conversion to Islam looms large in your future. I’d like the opinion of Queer for Palestine in that little detail.

Reaching Beyond Boundaries, by Don Mann and Kraig Becker

You can consider this review as kind of a twofer. Some of the anecdotes and hints of the overall philosophy in Reaching Beyond Boundaries can also be found in the book that brought Mann to my attention, Inside SEAL Team Six.

In the latter, Don spends more time on his biography and war stories. Through all that you see his success philosophies imager without his need to actually spell it all out. You read how he was a kid with plenty of excuses he could have used to experience adulthood as a failure. Trouble with the law, drinking, drugs - general hell-raising of the type that left many of his peers in his hometown burned out, jailed or dead. But there was something inside Don Mann that would instinctively pull him out of all that and put him on a path to the kind of success that is unparalleled in certain, sometimes obscure, respects.

…Beyond Boundaries, on the other hand, DOES spell it all out, which is your good for you to now know. Using some of THE MOST inspirational and exciting stories, Mann takes you step by step through the thought process you can employ to achieve - well - anything.

If you are a young man, understanding the principles in the book might lead to you becoming a member of the U.S. Navy SEALS, for example. If that happened in one case based on this review, I will have considered my entire writing career a success. All 1000 articles and posts and a book. I am certain Don would say the same about …Boundaries if he were to see just that result.

But there is infinitely more to the work than rah-rah, SEALS, NAVY, MILITARY! The principles in the book are universal and the examples provided are the evidence you need to then look in the mirror and say, “So just what the hell DO I really want to accomplish? What is the BIG goal? What are the little goals that will get me there? Is it important enough that I will take it all the way to “the line” (an important term) to get it? Am I willing to endure the requisite pain and failure to get there?

I can attest. I am off my duff and recreating the me I used to be. And I am working on new goals, physical and personal.

Through stories about legendary accomplishments, discussing the failures with the same value as the successes, Don strips you of excuses. You’ll see a blind man scale rock faces, BEFORE shooting serious rapids on the Colorado river. You’ll meet people who rowed solo across ocean - in their 60’s. There will be a politician, kicked to the curb but everyone, who roared back into power to lead a nation through its worst days (you know who I’m talking about).

I could go on all day. But in none of these cases did anyone woke up one day and decided to do the BIG thing that afternoon, and then do it. There is a process behind every success. The process Don lays out, if applied in your personal pursuits will mean the difference between letting a harsh failure or seemingly insurmountable obstacle kill your dream. You’ll learn about goal-setting, bonking (scary) and training like you fight (so to speak).

Worst case scenario. You get inspired. You set a big goal, a macro goal for yourself. I could be anything. We’ll say it is to run in a marathon in a few months and you’re not even an athlete right now. But it can be absolutely anything from sports, to your profession, or even a totally new profession. Every day you’ll get a little faster, a little stronger, a little smarter and happier. Worst case, no matter how things ultimately shake out, when asked what you’ve accomplished in life (channeling Patton)…”you won’t have to say, ‘well…I shoveled shit in Louisiana’.”

But, if you apply what Don will teach you, even that ceases to be a real possibility. Your life will be better. You’ll have proven yourself to the only person that really matters in the end…you.
