What is fasting? Fasting is abstaining from food or certain foods for a certain amount of time to get closure to God. Abstaining from certain entertainments distract us from getting closure to God.

8 is symbolic of the mouth and breath and can also mean speech, word, or vocalization.

2 is symbolic meaning is tent, house, place where you live, or where God lives.
