Fire needs these three things:

Oxygen, Fuel and Heat. This is known as the fire triangle.

1. Oxygen

Father God is our oxygen.

-Jesus is the fuel.

“Living on fire for God starts with putting your life in the Potter’s hands.”

What Does a Potter Do?

1. STAGES: A piece of pottery starts as a lump of clay and is fashioned into the finished piece. There are various stages to making a piece of pottery.

2. PREPARE: The first stage is preparing the clay, which involves a process called ‘wedging.’ Wedging clay is a little like kneading bread dough. It involves working the clay with your hands to get rid of air bubbles in the clay.

3. DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES: The clay is then shaped into the desired piece of pottery. There are different techniques used to shape the clay.

4. WATER: Slip-cast pottery is made by pouring liquid clay into a plaster mold. The liquid clay is simply clay dissolved in water. When the water evaporates, a solid clay item remains in the mold.

Oil Represents your time and treasure investments that are above God. He’s not number one.

What does the water produce?

• The mind of Christ

• Freedom

• The Abundant Life

• Living on FIRE for God

5. GLAZE (gifts): Once the piece of potter has been shaped, time is spent tidying up and finessing the piece. The clay is then left to dry out.

6. FIRE: Once the final touches are made, the clay is baked in a ceramic oven called a kiln. This process is called firing. Pottery is normally fired twice.

Starting, sustaining and building the fire.

Stop putting out your own fire.

Gods' mercy: when we deserve punishment, He doesn’t punish us, and in fact blesses us instead. Mercy is the withholding of a just condemnation.

God’s grace is God's favor and kindness toward us.

HOPE

Hope that is created out of fire from the Holy Spirit.

“Infatigable hope”

A hope that will bend, but will not break. A hope that is forge from the fire to be bent to the heart of God. A hope that can never be broken.

How do we get this infatigable hope?

The Greek word for fervent is “zeo” which means to boil with heat.

God has granted us the ability to either restrict or release the Holy Spirit fire in our lives.

Are we going to douse it or fan it?

Three things that will douse the fire of God in our hearts.

1. Human Fear

2. Control

3. Flawed theology

Two important keys to fanning the fire.

1. Knowing God’s Mercy
