May 07, 2023 VICTORY! Part 6: "Body Armor of Righteousness"
Welcome to Passionate Life Church! Pastor Andrew continues our series on VICTORY! Let's put on God's righteousness as we engage in the battle!
Welcome Home!
-----------------------------------------------------
Why should I want to engage in spiritual warfare?
Ephesians 6:10-14
New Living Translation
Purpose of body armor. It protects our internal organs, more specifically, our hearts. God's righteousness protects us.
Old covenant definition of righteousness:
Psalm 89:14
New Living Translation
Romans 3:21-23
New Living Translation
Three signs you are missing your body armor of righteousness:
1. You are compromising with sin.
You are not guarding your heart, and there is some part of your conscience that is seared. You are experiencing apathy.
2. You are under some level of deception.
There are areas of your life where you believe the lies of the enemy.
You are experiencing fear, anxiety, and depression.
3. You are relying more on yourself than God.
You live in doubt of God and even your eternal salvation. You are experiencing a lack of assurance.
Why should we care about making sure our body armor of righteousness is on?
James 5:16-18
New International Version

April 30, 2023 VICTORY! Part 5: “Belt of Truth”
Welcome to Passionate Life Church! Pastor Andrew continues our series on VICTORY! The victory has been won, but we must live in the TRUTH of it. Join us as we prepare ourselves for the fullness God has for us!
Welcome Home!

Sermon Notes:

NLT

Foundational Truth: We are created in the image of God, and our morality and character come from Him.

Foundational Lie: God has no image. My character is based on what I think I am and rooted in what I do and experience.

Why is this lie so powerful? Because it gives us exactly what we want.

Three ways we know when we are not wearing the belt of truth:
1. When we are not living in true freedom.
John8:32 NLT
2. When our identity is in something other than in Christ.
John 14:6 NLT
3. Our lives do not reflect the life of Jesus.

Exodus 20:7 Amplified Bible
