Ghost Pipe, Monotropa uniflora, is also known as Indian Pipe. It is an all white plant that can be found growing under leaves in the forest. The plant is all white because it doesn't use photosynthesis to grow. Instead, ghost pipe is a parasitic plant that steals nutrients from fungal mycorrhiza and the trees. The bell shaped flowers are beautiful! Ghost pipe is used to treat physical and emotional pain.
