The 90s are back babyeee and so are we. Welcome back to Pathetic and Poetic! Do you like whale tails? Have you ever dated someone with your name so you never called out the wrong name in bed? Has a sewer alligator ever crawled out of your toilet? Have you ever forgotten the words to the Etta James ballad ‘Stormy Weather?’ Well Natalie and Cory have and do and might and maybe not. But you’re not gonna find out by reading this description. Give our 22nd episode a lil listen. This week Nat and Cory write summer-y poems inspired by a prompt by poet Ollie Schminkey.

Talking about things that we don’t talk about. Our dream funerals. The secret sexual affair of Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. Frequently used words the other person never knew the meaning to. Eggflation. Nat and Cory write not one, not two, not four, but three poems each based on randomly generated sentences. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll listen, and you’ll learn… or none of those things. All on Pathetic and Poetic.

Is Spring here? Probably not, but Pathetic and Poetic sure is. So open your windows wide and wrap yourself in three layers of clothing and nondiegetic sounds. This week, we find our pathetic poets discussing street noises, childhood games that were basically just excuses to rub against one another, bullying, audition sweats, the detailed history of tiger balm and elderly hedge witches. However, afternoon traffic and recess children aren't the only things making noise, because Natalie and Cory…get in a fight….dun dun dun. Was it bad? Is it Messy? Will the podcast survive? Probably, but just in case, keep listening to find out. This week, the duo writes poems about the changing seasons.

Nat and Cory talk about auditioning over video, doing live performances, creative mind blocks, expecting success and anticipating failure, and running away from your own reality.
