This week's message titled Marriage and Singleness is based on scriptures: Psalm 88; Colossians 3: 4; Proverbs 27: 15; and I Corinthians 7: 27-29, 31. We live in a broken world. While God is making all things new, brokenness still appears in all things. This week we consider how brokenness in the church makes its way into assumptions about marriage and singleness. There will be some surprises here. I believe we’ll be left with eagerness for when God makes all things new, and a deeper respect for the Word of God which is such an honest, real book!

Today's message continues the series "Introducing Pathway" and is titled "Standing on a Rock". It isbased on II Timothy 3: 14-17. The message reveals what is the source of authority, the rock of the Christian faith. Christians do not believe what they feel or want. They believe what they are told. "What they are told,” the source of the authority is divinely given. Listen in to what Christians believe about their holy book.

Pastor Joel continues the series: "Introducing Pathway" with today's message titled "Nobody’s Perfect" based on John 1: 14, Mark 10: 17-27. We are considering the core values of Pathway Church. Today’s value is that nobody’s perfect. That’s a pretty easy admission to make. But let’s not say it like a brag or an excuse. And when that admission grabs us, it keeps us humble and ready to accept anyone. Pathway is filled with imperfect people finding our hope in a perfect God, and willing to accept anyone, no matter who you are, where you come from, or what you’ve done.

This week we begin a new series called "Introducing Pathway". The message is titled "Everybody’s Welcome" based on John 4: 1-26. Jesus welcomed everyone, and so do we. No matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done, you are welcome at Pathway Church.

Message titled: "Is God Relevant? Am I Relevant?" is based on Psalm 90. People wonder if God is relevant to humans. The real question is are we relevant to Him?

Message title “When Mission Meets Preference” is based on Jonah 1: 1-3, Jonah 3, and Jonah 4. Jonah wanted God to be a being who favored Jonah and his people, and destroyed all the “bad people.” However God is God. And He will be who He is. He is “gracious, compassionate, slow to anger, and abounding in love.” Don’t run from God’s mission to draw people to Himself. Instead, embrace the mission, and join with God in the harvest. That’s what Pathway relaunch has been all about. We’ve reorganized, reconfigured, and reenergized to join God in the harvest. May He choose to honor us by using us to harvest!

Today's message titled "Holy God, Holy Us" is based on 1 Peter 1: 13-16. In this passage, Peter encourages us to “not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: Be holy, because I am holy.”

Message Title: Restrain Desire based on Exodus 20: 17 and Hebrews 13: 5. Today ends the series on "Love God, Love All." I hope God has taught you two things. One, the commands point us to our need for a Savior. We can not keep them perfectly. Two, I hope the commands have reignited your desire to love God and love others by obeying His top ten list. As the plaque says in a friend’s kitchen, “They aren’t the 10 suggestions." In obedience to the commandments, we are blessed with freedom for the commands are really about loving God and loving others. Here’s a quick story regarding today’s teaching on command number 10, “Do not covet. . . .”

What to do? In a flash he put one of the beetles in his mouth for safekeeping and reached for the third beetle with his now free hand. But the mouth-imprisoned beetle squirted acid down Darwin’s throat--so that in a fit of coughing he lost all three beetles. --James S. Hewett, Illustrations Unlimited. Coveting is like that. We quit focusing on what we are blessed with to desperately seek that which we do not have.

Message Titel: The Truth, and Nothing But the Truth, based on Exodus 20;16, Proverbs 12: 17-22, and Ephesians 4: 25. Lying is a chummy sin. It usually chums up to whatever other sins are around and joins in the adventure. As Oliver Wendell Holmes said, "Sin has many tools, but a lie is the handle that fits them all." God calls His people to speak truth. His word is truth. And our word should be truth. If you are one who regularly lies, you are invited out of the darkness and into freedom. “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free."

Stop lying. Speak the truth in love. You will be free.

Today's message titled Good Owning Wrong Taking is based on Exodus 20:15 and Romans 13: 8-10. Today we continue with "Loving God, Loving All." God has declared that humans are to love Him above all and our neighbors as ourselves. How do we do that? The Ten Commandments/Ten Words are the broad outline from God on what it means to love Him and others. Today we study ownership and properly relating to things. Humans properly have a close relationship with things, but where are the lines when we get too close to things, both ours and others?
