After leading the defending Super Bowl champions 10-0 in the third quarter, the Patriots squandered their lead and fell to the Seahawks 13-10. Drake Maye threw three interceptions in the fourth quarter, including during the final drive, where Maye cost the team a chance at a game-tying field goal to send it to overtime. To make matters worse, A.J. Brown went down with a right ankle injury, believed to be a high ankle sprain, in the third quarter and did not return.
