Orlando City went on the road and...well, might as well not have bothered. A forfeit would have spared fans the sights we all witnessed on Saturday, and there would be some measure of comfort in not having to have seen a plethora of mistakes on both ends that were costly in the Lions' first 2024 meeting with in-state rival Inter Miami. It started early and kept going the wrong direction. There were individual moments when the bleeding could have been stopped, but the Lions couldn't execute in either final third on Saturday. We break down the game as much as we can stomach to do so.
This week's mailbagbox was interested in the current referee situation in MLS, what exactly we saw on Saturday, and one of our favorite shows. Remember, if there’s anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the show, just ask us by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC.
Following the mailbagbox, we turned our attention toward the midweek matchup with Tigres in Concacaf Champions Cup action. The game is in Orlando, but it's a late kickoff. Will that help the Mexican side? It's not like they need any help. Tigres will be a tough out, and we provide our key matchups for Tuesday as well as our score predictions for the Orlando leg of this tie.
We'll be back later in the week. Get your "ask us anything" questions in and be sure to rate and review our show wherever you get your podcasts.
Here’s how No. 400 went down:
0:15 – Orlando City had a horrible day on Saturday and, as someone who watched the game, so did I.
14:34 – Our mailbagbox asks us about referees, TV shows, and other stuff.
28:02 — The Lions are out of the Miami frying pan and go into the Tigres fire.
