The Lions still aren't firing on all cylinders and hopefully the current full week between games will let Orlando City finally start turning the corner. Orlando visited Atlanta United without both starting central midfielders and a whole lot of tired legs, but the Lions were mainly done in by poor finishing and a couple of defensive lapses. There is a case to be made that Orlando only controlled much of the match because of the score, but the Lions at least did that much in a 2-0 road loss to Atlanta United.
We broke down the match, looked back on our predictions, and selected a unanimous Man of the Match.
This week's mailbagbox asked us about Duncan McGuire and Luis Muriel starting together and whether that's likely to continue. Remember, if there’s anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the show, just ask us by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC.
Following the mailbagbox, we discussed OCB's MLS NEXT Pro season opener at Atlanta United 2 on Saturday. The Young Lions did Young Lion things, falling behind on an early penalty. However, they equalized on a penalty of their own and then took the lead before halftime on an outstanding free kick from Yutaro Tsukada.
Despite Atlanta 2 making things interesting late, the Young Lions hung on for three points to start their 2024 campaign. Drunk OCB is very much still Drunk OCB.

Here’s how No. 404 went down:
0:15 – Things haven't gotten any better for Orlando City in terms of results, but the performances at least aren't far off. That's little consolation.
28:07 – Our mailbagbox featured essentially the same question from two different listeners.
35:08 — Drunk OCB is back! Penalties! Free kick goals! Late drama!
