Here’s Just a Taste of This Episode’s Talking PointsGetting out of Alignment for ChangeFor Lauren to get out of alignment, she instead makes herself happy rather than making other people happy. As a working mom with young children, she realizes that self-care is the last thing on the priority list. And at the end of the day when you always focus on others, it's hard to try to refill your own tank while you're running on empty.
Lauren learned that the reverse is what should be true. You have to shift your mindset to allow more and more demands of your time by other people to take the driver's seat of your life. And if you are not consciously aware and making an effort not to do that, it is going to happen.
The Shift into the Positive VoiceThe thing that Lauren did to consciously shift into that positive self-talk was becoming aware of that negative voice and recognizing that she isn't the person that voice used to describe. And to maintain a positive state, she constantly fills her mind with uplifting thoughts.

Here’s Just a Taste of This Episode’s Talking PointsThe Challenge & Deciding to do Something DifferentBefore our paths crossed, Ashley was at a point where she feels frustrated with her career, the environment she was in, and the walls she was running into. In short, she wasn't happy.
She was also angry to the point where she could pinpoint and finger point to who was preventing her success. She wakes up every morning and all she does is fight. Seeing where she's at, made her realize that she needs to change.
How Breathing Exercise Helped Control AngerWhen Ashley became aware of her anger triggers, she started practicing breathing exercises during meetings by herself or with a group. When she does that, he notices that people began to respond and react to her differently.
Breathing has helped her to step back and listen for what is there and not for what she expected it to be. At the end of the day, she was not exhausted. And she wanted more of those days.

Here’s Just a Taste of This Episode’s Talking PointsThe Challenges Chrystin ExperiencedBefore Chrystin Started working with me, she had experienced some challenges. One of those challenges is letting other people tell her what success should look like, which is more about helping his boss and other people look good so they can achieve their goals.
She then realized that doing such doesn't make her happy. Because she would end up standing in the crowd, watching somebody be acknowledged for the work that she has done. This was very demoralizing for Chrystin, thinking that she would always be that person in the background.
The Point of the ShiftChrystin's point of shift started when she attended the women's leadership conference at which I'm one of the speakers. She met me there and thought that I went some really great stuff.
She felt inspired and joined a group of women from the conference. Then, sharted working with me and talked about the challenges we were facing. Such as not asking for things that you want, not living up to your full potential, and letting other people tell us that this is what your success should look like.
During the sessions, Chrystin realized that she doesn't want to live working for other people's success and just always be in the background. Then, comes real change.

Here’s Just a Taste of This Episode’s Talking PointsDifficulty Showing AuthenticityFor Mitchelle being professional has been part of her life. Because as a person of color, she wants to make sure that people would take her seriously. That kind of mentality didn't give her permission to experience the joy that she sees in her colleagues.
She realized that it was her fault for thinking that if she showed up as herself and were authentic it wouldn't be enough. She knew that authenticity has become a big cliche these days, people talk about showing up authentic. But she doesn't know if people really understand what that means.
A Thing that Mitchelle Needs to AcceptWhen we first started Mitchelle was clueless. She thought I was going to tell her to figure out how to get her out of her job. And I’m like, no, let's try to be happy where you are.
She’s not sure how this is going to work out, but it eventually turned out well. She now feels that her future is definitely bright and the different perspective she now has will serve her better.
She says, “It doesn't have to be that hard and it doesn't always have to be painful”. And that's what she needed to accept. It's living a life of joy as opposed to feeling like she needed to live a life of pain.

Here’s Just a Taste of This Episode’s Talking PointsMitchelle’s Challenges That Made Her Reach Out & ChangeAt first thought, Mitchelle’s wanted to get help with advancing her career as an in-house lawyer.
But after our first conversation, she walked away thinking she might need a little bit more help. Cause I had her thinking about some internal work that she needed to do.
She realized that it wasn't just executive presence, which she thought was what she needed to advance. She actually needed to do some internal work within her, which in turn would allow her to show up differently for those opportunities that would unfold on their own, as opposed to chasing after something.
What Mitchelle Thought Executive Presence Was & It To BeInitially, Mitchelle thought it was showing up to meetings prepared to put on a show. To put on a show in a way that appealed to the individuals that were at the table. She thought she needed to know how to show up in a way where she can be seen and viewed as an effective leader and not an angry black woman.
But after the work we’ve done so far, she realizes that It's really not about how she shows up, but how she determines her worth. Before she was allowing others to determine her own worth as opposed to her knowing her worth and just showing up as a person that needs to be valued.
