So hot of the heels of the wildly successful and rambling live spectacular that was Episode 50 comes this hour of tightly-honed rage and derision.

Who knew that when Nate decided to use the podcast as an excuse to talk about how much he loves his pretty new Contax G2, he'd end up being mocked relentlessly by a man fuelled by a semi-irrational hatred of all things automatic?

Yes, the correct answer is "everyone who's ever listened to the podcast before" or "anyone who's ever spoke to Tony about any camera made after 1980".

We're not sure we would ever get this far. When Tony and Nate started the Pdexposures Podcast over two years ago it was on a whim and done very quickly without much regard to form, quality, or substance. So to sit here and welcome our great listeners to our 50th episode is a real treat.

For those who weren't aware or couldn't make it, for our 50th episode we did something a little different, we recorded live. We had people chatting and sending in messages, and even a guest who hopped into the chat who we've never had on before!

Because of this the form is a little different from our usual episode, but rest assured there is still plenty of film discussion and ridiculous banter. Sit back, relax, and enjoy our 50th episode. We're proud to be here, and can't wait to bring you 50 more!

Often times we are met with the mindset that since you can buy one cheaper than to fix what's wrong there's no sense in going for the repair, but is that always the case?

Welcome back, true believers. Yes, Pdexposures has returned; we all made it through the turbulent festive season with livers and waistlines relatively unharmed. And so, as we face the vast expanse that is 2015, we look at the yearly tradition of New Year's Resolutions.

Join us as we discuss our personal goals for the year, indulge ourselves with a minor pun run, verbally abuse each other and go into great detail as to why 365 projects, 52 Roll projects and One Camera, One Lens (and possibly One Film) projects are foolish at best and abject bullshit at worst.

Yes, here at Pdexposures we are starting this new year as we mean to go on.

We made it through another year. We don't know how, but we made it.

2014 has been a year of terrible events, horrible news and imploding film companies, but somehow we've struggled on to the end and survived, and now we look towards 2015 with a sense of optimism and/or dread. But before that, we've got New Year's parties to go to, so this short intermission is our way of saying thanks for sticking with us and a reminder to join us for the first episode of 2015 in two weeks' time!

It's our last podcast of the year, and as we face down the epic array of Christmas parties, egg nog, turkey and mince pies we're going to have to get through to make it to 2015, we decided we needed a break - an audio-visual distraction. We're guessing you'll probably need one too. After all, this is a time of family get-togethers, food comas and repeats on television, so what do you do when no one in the house can bring themselves to move?

That's right, you put on a DVD.

So here, at long last, is the Pdexposures-approved list of photography-related documentaries. Some of these are on Netflix. Some are on Youtube. And some are available through Amazon Prime, meaning that you've still got time to buy them for Nate if you haven't got him a Christmas present yet (hint hint). Either way, these should tide you through this bleak winter period and help you hold it together until we return in 2015 with another year of film photography rambling.

Social Media. Social MEEEEEDJA. It's the home of the hipster, the media graduate, the self-obsessed teenage girl and, sadly, photographers. It's almost a necessary evil these days, but don't worry - we've enlisted Instagram expert Matt Day of MattDayPhoto.com to help guide you through this horrid, self-absorbed world of likes, retweets and shares. None of us can claim the title of "social media maven" (and you'd be perfectly entitled to stab us in the face if we did) but this should help you get your social media strategy and content calendar dialled in for 2015.

For this week's "music" we've returned to Bob Loftin's noise-making - in part because it makes us laugh, and in part because it's barely listenable, and we like testing you. If you enjoy self-flagallation, you can listen to the full piece at Concrete Lunch, his blog of noise experiments and skateboard-related ramblings.

In a world where law-abiding citizens are being stopped for engaging in a perfectly legal hobby, amateur photojournalists are being arrested and their equipment seized, and intellectual property is being stolen right, left and center, three people have come together to cobble together some sort of advice on how best to deal with the most common legal problems facing photographers in this modern age.

Also, along the way, thinly-veiled accusational allusions are made, another popular Sci-Fi series was butchered and one man got to enjoy writing phrases like "accusational allusions".
