Well, we realise that such a campaign is useless if people don't know what to do when the safelights have been turned on, so we enlisted the help of an old friend to pass on the arcane knowledge that is printmaking - yes, Dan Domme is back!

By the time this episode's over you should have more or less everything you need to know to make your first prints - and also know why contact printers are the devil's work, why some people prefer fibre-based paper over resin coated, and what the PQ in PQ Developer actually stands for.

This week's episode is probably the most important one we've ever done. As such, the stupid jokes have been put aside (well, most of them) and the punk music has been replaced by something more respectable (for now); we've gone all serious. And that's because we're talking about the real future of film photography: the home darkroom.

From this moment on, it is our personal mission to encourage as many people as possible to beg, borrow or steal an enlarger, tape cardboard panels over their windows and make all their neighbours think they're running either a brothel or a meth lab. Yes, you too can end up on a government watchlist - it's really quite simple, and we're here to tell you just how simple it is.

From this very moment we're taking submissions at [email protected], so send us photos of your own personal darkroom - with a short piece of text explaining some of the most salient points of your setup - and help inspire film photographers who may have been sat on the fence about going that extra mile and making proper silver prints instead of shoddy inkjet ones. Keep an eye out for the first instalment in the next couple of days; we start with either Nate or Tony, depending on who gets their post sorted first.

Hey, we're back! We survived the New Year relatively unscathed and we decided, in our wisdom, to begin 2014 by looking back at 2013. Or, more precisely, by looking at the huge piles of negatives we built up over 2013.

If your New Year's Resolution is to get more organisation in your life, this is the episode for you. We discuss our own personal filing systems, backup methods, and notation and tagging techniques. Needless to say, they range from the obsessive to the dreadful, and it'll come as no surprise who sits where on that scale.

Also, Nate shares a festive parable involving hard drives, Tony gets angry at positivity, and Simon... well, he's still a Texan.

Although really, that's not true. What we actually talk about is Pakons, the best way to run Windows XP nowadays (which is, simply put, don't) and how Simon passes the time when he's scanning a roll of film.

If you get through this one without either going insane or being mentally scarred for life it'll be a miracle.

Adding to the effect is our latest musical attempt at alienating our listeners. It may sound like a videogame soundtrack circa 1995, but it's actually something Tony's friend (and co-host on a podcast from his other secret life as a freestyle skateboarder) knocked up on a Kaossilator. Earlier this year, Nate went to the land of "Thrown Fish," and I thought I would follow suit and head to Dallas to find out who shot JR, and who shoots film now. We had perfect weather, and a pleasant walk around Deep Ellum; with a nice small group of photographers. I sat down with some of the photographers who showed up to find out what they like to shoot and why. Amanda Potter of the Plastic Imagery podcast on the Pdexposures Network was even in attendance.
