Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of John 14:27 which says "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid"
"What a beautiful verse and reminder to hold onto. A lot of the times we ask and pray for things to happen and we have a visual expectation, or a story that we have played in our heads.
This is how God is going to bless me.
This is where I am going to meet the one.
This is the timeline for my life.
We write the ends of our stories over and over again. Everyday a new outcome because everyday things change, and so we think our ends need to change to.
When will re realize that God has given us the gift of peace. A kind of peace that doesn’t make us feel the need to write the end of our stories. When will we realize the true definition of “not as the world gives”
The world doesn’t give, it takes. So why would we ever think He would give as the world gives? He isn’t a father that takes, He is a father that provides."
