Many Iraqi political parties and organisations held a peaceful rally in front of the Iraqi Embassy in Canberra to show their support for the Iraqi people and specially in the south who for the past month been demonstrating peacefully against the lack of services, unemployment and the spread of government corruption.
Mr Soro Soro representing the Bet-Nahrain democratic Party in Australia, told SBS there were about 50 people representing Iraqi Australian political parties and human rights organisations who came to this protest. He and all the people there were disappointed with the cold reception and disregards by the Iraqi ambassador in Canberra who ignored and showed no respect to the protesters.
