Kylan started her recovery journey 5 1/2 years ago in a treatment center for her alcoholism and eating disorders, where she was introduced to yoga as an experiential therapy. She developed a daily yoga practice to supplement therapy and 12 step meetings for sobriety maintenance and personal growth. She believes that using mindful movement as part of a recovery routine accelerates the development of self awareness, self respect and appreciation and reduces likelihood of developing substitute addictions like nicotine dependence, disordered eating and body obsession. She facilitates groups and classes in and out of the recovery community helping others to connect to their inner joy, compassion and wisdom.
