Are you spending hours creating content for your Instagram account and Facebook page, only to discover literally no one is liking, commenting or messaging you to ask about your local services? It can feel really demoralising when you put all of this time and effort into creating amazing educational posts and videos for your social media channels, and then not one person ticks "Instagram" or "Facebook" when they indicate how they found out about you. It's true that whilst having a social media presence is useful in business, it's definitely not 100% mandatory, particularly if you want to attract local people into your local services. Tune in to today's episode to find out 3 non-social media ways that you can attract local customers into your group classes or 1-on-1 services. These tips are super actionable today, and they really won't take hours of time. So, pop your earbuds in and enjoy!

Cue the confetti and open the champagne because this month, Claire is celebrating 7 years of freedom from teaching those traditional pelvic floor exercises called "Kegels"! Invented in the 1940's, Kegels are known as the "go-to" exercise in more industries than you think (not just pelvic floor health), and you might appreciate that it's somewhat hard to go it alone in this sea of Kegels, but Pelvic Floor Expert Claire has managed to do it successfully now for more than half a decade. Join Claire in this honest and candid episode where she highlights 1) why she stopped teaching Kegels and what exercises she prescribes instead, 2) whether she ever regrets making the decision to takes Kegels out of her repertoire, 3) what research exists for and against Kegels (and why it's somewhat contradictory), 4) whether it's appropriate to teach Kegels AND the full-body approach at the same time, 5) what benefits her clients have gained from her non-traditional approach, and 6) finally a truly honest account of some of her experiences of (unsuccessfully) teaching the Kegel in a group exercise setting. Do you want to know if it's possible to help treat clients with pelvic floor dysfunction without prescribing Kegels? Well, tune in to this week's episode to find out!

Have you ever created, produced and launched an online course to your audience only for no one to actually buy it? You know the deal here: you painstakingly edited all your videos, you put your heart and soul into your course's content, and then when it came to opening the doors, you found the whole launch process incredibly draining and frustrating. Am I right, or am I right? Whilst you'd love to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and plan out a re-launch for this amazing course, you're really scared to open the doors again due to past failure. Pop your earbuds in and hear Claire highlight: 1) what questions you need to ask to improve your launch strategy, 2) why not all online course launches are created equal, and 3) why following someone else's launch formula doesn't automatically guarantee success. Tune in and enjoy!

As a FitPro, do you have a whole host of qualifications that you've never made a return on investment on? Do you freely admit that you're a bit of a serial "course collector", and whilst you LOVE learning new skills, you struggle to turn around a profit after you've passed a qualification? What draws many of us to the health and wellness industry is VARIETY, isn't it? We get to harness our creative side through our lesson planning for example, but it's also incredibly rewarding to serve, work and treat lots of different types of populations, using lots of different types of techniques. But, qualifications themselves don't necessarily keep the lights on and pay the bills, do they? If you'd like to make more money in your business, AND tap into your creative side by serving different populations, one of the easiest ways to do this is by offering niche or specialist classes (like pelvic floor, for example). Claire walks you through, step-by-step what you need to do to make £1,500 on your next niche class, by giving a real-life example of one of her business mentoring clients who's done just this recently! Are you ready to action and to do the same here today? Well, tune in and enjoy!

Tune into this solo episode from Claire where she highlights: 1) a tour of the barefoot shoe basics, 2) tips on how to compromise on barefoot shoes with clients, 3) several reasons the research you've read about injuries and barefoot shoes isn't relevant, and finally 4) a not-to-be-missed rant about several aspects of the barefoot shoe community that need addressing including privilege, pricing and product names. Ever been puzzled when a really experienced Pilates instructor gets pregnant and then ends up delivering their baby via c-section? Maybe you've never really noticed, or you aren't that observant, but if this question now has you scratching your chin, I guess you'll want to know what exactly is going on here, huh? Let me introduce special guest, Katy Lush! She's a Restorative Exercise Specialist, Gyrotonic Instructor and Pilates Teacher and she's here to share her birth story with us, which involves her first baby delivered by you guessed it -cesarean section, and the second baby -delivered naturally(commonly known as VBAC = Vaginal Birth After C-Section). I've brought Katy onto the podcast to talk about how's she changed the way she teaches Pilates and core-based exercise, what a reflexive core is, cues she no longer uses, emergency c-sections, VBACs, pelvic floor and more! Warning: expect a fairly frank discussion about whether the things we're teaching our pregnant clients in a Pilates setting about pelvic floor, and core and exercise etc are actually helpful or hindering. Intrigued? Well, pop your earbuds in, take us on a walk for the ultimate in natural movement and enjoy!
