Sometimes the people who help me the most in the ER are not even clinicians. They are the child life specialists who help my patients (and therefore me) have a better / easier experience. Jessie is one of our child life specialists who helps me be a more compassionate physician.

APP’s are the people I can’t do without. They are helpful, motivated and often teach me more than I teach them. I love having them around.
It is not very often that I intubate an asthmatic but when I do I always think about PEM rule number 91. Rule Number 92 is meant to help me be more efficient and do what is right for my patients and rule number 93 helps me to things one step at a time.
