Perfect Movie

So, is Space Camp a Perfect Movie? We reveal the results (don’t get your hopes up), feel bad for Ahmed Best, and welcome guest Jessica Grahmann to the podcast to open our eyes to some stuff we missed, suggest some movies, guess Steven’s celebrity crushes, and share what it’s like to watch movies with Gomer2. Great ep!

So, is Back to the Future a Perfect Movie? We reveal the results, change some listener’s minds, and welcome guest THE Chad Kemp to the podcast to reveal the name of the “Hey How’s It Going” guy, give us feedback, as a trial lawyer, on our courtroom format, and suggest that Lorraine and George McFly actually KNOW THAT THEIR SON IS A TIME TRAVELER. Great ep!

Join us next week for Space Camp!

It’s our first (super-sized) Listener’s Choice episode! After several rounds of voting, the movie to emerge triumphant in our Battle of the 80s Juggernauts was a little-known time travel movie from 1985…Back to the Future! We talk a lot about how good this movie is, because…well…it’s really good. Why is Marty McFly such an endearing hero? Is the Delorean the greatest movie vehicle ever? Why aren’t we totally disgusted by a mom falling in love with her son? Believe it of not, we answer all of these questions!

We know, we know…you can’t believe we forgot to talk about __________. Trust us, we could have gone for two more hours. Hope you enjoy what we’ve got to offer!

So, is Mad Max Fury Road a Perfect Movie? We reveal the results, answer listener comments (read: objections) and welcome our first ever guest to the podcast: author of Different is Awesome and creator of livingonehanded.com Ryan Haack to talk about disability representation in Hollywood, Furiosa, and playing a prince opposite Steven in high school. Great ep!

Check out Ryan’s children’s book Different is Awesome on Amazon or wherever books are sold. Also visit his website livingonehanded.com or find him on Facebook at Living One Handed.

Vroom vroom. After five years, we’re going back to Fury Road. Steven loved it when he saw it in 2015, Anthony…well, had a different experience. Can a different context change an opinion? Is strange and confusing actually a good thing? Listen in as Steven does his darndest to prove that this one is perfect!

It’s our first Anthony’s Choice episode! (It is his birthday after all). And he starts with one of his favorites: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. He loves how it looks! He loves how it sounds! He loves how it makes him feel! So…how can two friends disagree – even about something that holds a special place in one of their hearts – without it getting personal? They try, and you get to listen in!

So, is A League of Their Own perfect? We reveal the results, pine for baseball (!), dig deeper into discussions of comparison, and ask the dearly departed Penny Marshall an important question. Next week: Steven’s Choice: Mad Max: Fury Road! That’s a lot of colons.

After the laugh riot that is Contagion, we decided to get serious. JK, we’re talking A League of Their Own on this one. Why are baseball movies so great? Why is Tom Hanks so great? Why is Penny Marshall so great? Why is Madonna so great? Why…ok, so we think a lot in this movie is great. Enjoy as we talk a lot about things we love, this movie being high on that list.
