Yes, Jesus said "when the Bridegroom will be taken away from them; then they will FAST", but what He meant has to to interpreted by the Spirit, just as HE often said "He who has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit says...". To understand this verse we need to understand what is "eating & drinking", what is "fasting", who is the "bridegroom" and who is the "bride". Only then we'll understand what Jesus meant by saying "when the bridegroom is taken away from them". Isaiah 58 speaks of true fasting, calling it "the fast that I have chosen". He reveals the fasting to be related, not to the body, but a fast for the soul. By the arrival of the New Covenant, the Blood and the Body of the Lord Jesus Christ, the meaning of every carnal ordinance is entirely changed to spiritual treasures we can discover, and benefit from them.

In the top of the list of all messages preached in the church stand: "Take up your cross and follow Me". This is what Jesus said to Peter when he denied the will of God: "I must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day". It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire." Religiosity and Jesus are two different things. Jesus said: "Until now you have ASKED NOTHING in My NAME. Ask and you will receive that your joy may be full". What religion has done over the ages, is to steal what belongs to the children of God, the Bread, and has made them to be beggars of the crumbs only. But Jesus said, unlike the thieves and robbers who came before Me, and stole from you what belongs to you (your inheritance), I have come that you may have life, not in measure, but in abundance. But He said: until NOW you have asked nothing in My Name. Many have taken this literally, adding 'in Jesus Name' to their prayer, supposing that it would work. But Jesus is much more that a word we say at the end of our request.

Literal readings of the Bible puts a veil on the truth. Jesus said: If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell" -Matthew 5:29 We know there are many whose 'right eye' has caused them to sin, but not many have plucked it out. Find out what this eye is and how and why this eye should be plucked out, by listening to this podcast!

One of the astonishing statement Jesus made was (Mark 11:13-24). The key phrase in these verses is 'This Mountain' and 'Cast into the Sea'.

If we let the scriptures interpret scripture, we can find what 'This Mountain' is and what 'Casting into the Sea' means. Not understanding these truths spoken very bluntly by Jesus is the reason the rest of these scriptures don't become a reality in life. Many 'say' but not many experience 'he will have whatever he says'.

The understanding of 'Israel' is one of the sacred truth that has been hidden for centuries. Jesus seeing Nathaniel for the first time said: "Behold a True Israelite, in whom there is no deceit". Clearly he refers to being an "Israelite", to something called "deceit". But what is "deceit"? Where is "deceit"? And why Nathaniel was with "no deceit"? The answer can be found in Revelation 14, and John 1. Those who 'follow the Lamb of God, WHEREVER HE GOES' have 'no deceit' in their MOUTH!

A striking truth Jesus pointed out was that "You can not Serve God and Mammon". Everything in this verse is very clear, except 'mammon'. Mammon is always interpreted as 'money', and it's been taken as 'you can not serve God and money. Although that is true, meaning if you become a servant of money, you'll be slave to money and not free in regards to your relationship with God, but that's a very surface understanding of what Jesus meant.

If you follow Jesus in His teaching, you'll realize He was always clear about the line between the Kingdom of God, and the Law and the Prophets. He emphasized on the truth that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the Pharisees, you won't enter the Kingdom of God. Yet sometimes Matthew 5:17 is taken as He said he would bring a more strict Law. That's not what Jesus meant.
