Jeni Haynes is a remarkable woman who survived years of horrific abuse at the hands of her father by developing over 2,500 distinct personalities—a psychological defence mechanism known as Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). These alters, ranging from a tough protector named Muscles to a little girl called Symphony, helped her endure the unendurable. In a landmark legal case, Jeni and several of her alters bravely testified in court, leading to her father’s conviction and a 45-year prison sentence. Refusing to be defined by her trauma, Jeni went on to earn a PhD in criminology and psychology, wrote a powerful memoir (The Girl in the Green Dress), and became a voice for survivors of abuse. Her story is not just one of survival—it’s a mind-blowing triumph of resilience, intellect, and the extraordinary ways the human brain protects itself.

The Enfield Poltergeist was one of Britain’s most infamous hauntings, kicking off in 1977 in a sleepy council house in Enfield, North London—because of course it did. The Hodgson family, particularly 11-year-old Janet, found themselves smack in the middle of what can only be described as a paranormal circus: furniture flipping itself over, knocking sounds echoing through walls, toys flying across rooms, and even Janet allegedly levitating like something out of The Exorcist. Naturally, the press and paranormal investigators swarmed in, including Maurice Grosse and Guy Lyon Playfair from the SPR, who became convinced the activity was genuine. Skeptics, though, pointed fingers at mischievous kids and attention-seeking chaos. But whether it was real or just a teenage prank gone nuclear, the case remains a ghost-hunting classic—equal parts creepy, controversial, and absolutely bonkers.

Anatoly Moskvin was a Russian historian and linguist with a disturbing secret—he was found to have exhumed the bodies of at least 26 young girls, mummified them in his apartment, and dressed them up like dolls. Claiming he wanted to preserve their spirits and believed he could bring them back to life, Moskvin kept the corpses for years, speaking to them and even celebrating their birthdays. The case shocked the world not only for its macabre nature, but also for the eerie calmness with which he described his actions—like it was the most normal thing in the world to turn your flat into a haunted dollhouse.
