We're celebrating Mardi Gras this week on The Pete Sayek Program, because if Wednesday can be Sundae at your participating Carvel ice cream dealer, then there's nothing wrong with having a Fat Tuesday on a Wednesday! The joint was jumping this week, and we've got some festive Carnival selections abound for you (and even a tasty paczki) - as well as a new Top 5 at 10, your great requests, and a whole lot more fun and frivolity! We even share a little bit of fun with you this week: my first-ever appearance on a microphone from (yikes!), plus a sampling of what The Pete Sayek Show sounded like a few years later when I (sort of) figured things out. Love is in the air, and never moreso than when you enjoy our annual Valentine's Day show here at The Pete Sayek Program. We've got many of your romantic favorites and requests throughout the show this week, but it's better if you listen and hear for yourself, like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're going to get. Unless you get one of those boxes with the diagram telling you EXACTLY what you are going to get. We kick off the month of February here at The Pete Sayek Program with a jam-packed edition of the show for you! There's so much going on this week, I don't know how we managed to squeeze it all in to four hours (maybe with mirrors...?). We (of course) have our usual fun features, with a new Top 5 at 10 and your fine requests. Throughout the program, we remember the rock legends Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper. We also remember Chuck Negron of Three Dog Night with some great musical selections. Any early-February show wouldn't be complete without a tip of the cap to the good old Groundhog, so we made sure he's not left out, even IF he says we have six more weeks of this mess to look forward to. We return this week with a full four-hour presentation, mostly recovered from the nasty flu bug, AND digging out from just about a foot-and-a-half of snow left behind by the big snow-a-palooza storm that hit most of the country. There MAY come a time in your life when you might consider doing a show while you have the flu. Don't do it. I've done it for you. For whatever reason, I thought that would be a good idea. It wasn't. I already felt horrible and doing a show only made things feel even horribler. Somehow, we managed to get a halfway-decent program together for you (albeit truncated due to near-expiry) and that's what we present to you this week. Fret not, we still have a brand new Top 5 at 10 for you, and a bunch of great music - plus, I only fell asleep during songs twice! I woke up right away in each instance, so I guess that's OK. Consider it an experiment in working in adverse conditions. Thankfully, listening to the show is NOT contagious, but I recommend a cup of hot tea anyway.

It was a fun week here on the Pete Sayek Program as we had the TURNTABLE hooked up (as promised) and actually spun records all night long throughout the show! In addition to performing the duties of an actual DISC jockey, we had plenty of good fun for all the cats and kittens, with a new Top 5 at 10 and our usual fun featurettes. Plus, we celebrate the birthday of Elvis Presley (1/8) throughout the presentation with generous samplings of The King (some from the turntable, too!). It's our first show of the New Year, and we kicked things off here on The Pete Sayek Program with a huge turnout and a swinging affair! Felice Anno Nuovo! It's our annual New Year's Special here at The Pete Sayek Program, this year presented on New Year's Eve (for the first time in forever) as we count down and party our way into 2026! It's a swingin' affair, with plenty of fun and foolishness, loads of laughs and quite *a few* cocktails along the way! As we like to do on special holiday shows, we'll be featuring songs that were Number One on New Year's Eve in years gone by - plus a new Top 5 at 10 and a Beatles BBC appearance thrown in to close out the year in proper fashion. We also look back at the year that was, and look ahead to what the New Year may bring. It truly is a crazy, crazy party, so grab a beverage and some snacks and let's toast in the year again together. Joyous Season's Greetings! This week we present our annual Christmas Extravaganza, featuring a festive helping of yuletide favorites, PLUS it's a show SO big, we needed FIVE HOURS to squeeze it all in! In addition to all the holiday sounds you love (and some you may not have heard!), we have Hank and Tina Hayes in the studio to join me in waiting for Santa, waxing nostalgic about our favorite childhood Christmas memories, best presents, all the Christmas food, favorite holiday specials AND Jim Nazium calls in to join the festivities!  There's even an impromptu reading of "A Christmas Carol" FROM MEMORY (it goes about the way one might expect!). It's a grand evening of celebration, all programmed for your tree-side enjoyment! So grab yourself a plate of Christmas leftovers, grab another glass of the good stuff and join in the fun with us.
