Governor Newsom announced yesterday that all California health care workers will have to get the COVID-19 booster shot, saying in a tweet that  "with omicron on the rise, we're taking immediate actions to protect Californians..." 

And Newsom's not the only one taking steps to fight the new variant with San Jose's mayor also proposing what could be the state's first city booster mandate.
