Holiday travel is in full swing and Triple-A anticipates record-setting volume driven by a significant rebound in air travel.
In the Philadelphia five-county area, 1.3 million people are expected to travel 50 miles or more.
Triple-A spokeswoman Jana Tidwell says 90% of them will be traveling by car and 7% by air.
Tidwell says air travel is a significant reason for the record increase.
This weekend is expected to be the busiest of the 12-day period between December 21st and January first.
Tidwell says AAA also anticipates a rush of people returning after Christmas next Thursday and Friday.
