Philadelphia City Council had an extremely light calendar, this week. None of the bills on final passage came up for a vote. It turns out that’s because there was insufficient notice, under the state Sunshine Act, about the bills that were scheduled to be voted on. KYW Newsradio City Hall bureau chief Pat Loeb reports.

December 07, 2023Former union boss 'Johnny Doc' guilty on most counts in federal embezzlement trial

A federal jury has found former Philadelphia labor leader John Dougherty guilty of stealing from the union he once led.
Seven people including an infant, a firefighter and two police officers were taken to the hospital after a fire in Northeast Philadelphia.
University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill is walking back some of the comments she made earlier this week at a congressional hearing on antisemitism on college campuses.
Police are asking the public to help them locate a suspect involved in a triple shooting in West Kensington on Wednesday. Authorities say officers found three people shot in their heads around 5 p.m. One of them, 34-year-old Luimi Nunez, was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Two other male victims, ages 21 and 61, were also taken to the hospital. They're both said to be in critical condition.
On this anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Battleship New Jersey hosted a wreath-laying ceremony to remember the men and women who died during the siege.
