On day 12 of the search for escaped prisoner Danelo Calvacante, the reward has increased to $25,000 as state police say the search remains focused on Chester County. Pa. State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens urges people to remain alert and vigilant; to lock their homes, vehicles and any outbuildings, including barns and sheds; and to report anything suspicious to police.Residents in Bucks County hosted a special memorial service Monday morning at the Garden of Reflection in Lower Makefield to remember their neighbors who died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. More people from Bucks were killed in the attack than in any other Pa. county. The Red Cross is sounding an alarm on a national blood shortage. The organization says it’s running low after a summer of lower-than-expected donor turnout. Dozens of blood drives are scheduled in the region in the coming weeks. While the bill passed the Legislature with broad support in June, Gov. Phil Murphy has another plan and will conditionally veto it. The Philadelphia Orchestra has voted overwhelmingly to reject their management's latest contract offer, guaranteeing a return to the bargaining table. Their contract expired over the weekend. The musicians' local 77 voted last month to authorize a strike.
