Paul had it all together when it came to “godliness.” He talks about knowing the law inside and out, and he was blameless; he had the best reputation in a religious sense. 

Yet, in context Paul tells us he puts all of that behind him for the mission that God had before him- to reach us messy Gentiles with the true message of the cross, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus is enough.

If your foundation has been about the flesh, people pleasing, all the religious rituals and standards, instead of understanding that your righteousness is in Christ, ask Him to gently show you. It can be a painful process removing stones in your foundation that you thought were godly, but instead were about show.
