Ever have one of those days where everything is going sweet and according to plan and expectations when all of a sudden, something pops up that consumes you and makes you drift off course. In the process, you stop paying attention to everything else around you and buying your head in the sand and not paying attention to anything else around you. How many times do we actually step back to look at what we have accomplished? I was always a man that looked at what I thought I needed in the future to make me happy, the crazy part is, none of it did. Skiing with my son and spending time with my daughter this weekend reminded me of that. Looking to the future and something that is beyond our control only causes anxiety and depression. My kids and this mountain last weekend reminded me of that. Mindfulness, FACTS AND FEELINGS are seriously a game changer if you want a fullfilling life. When something bothers you and have no idea why, or do not want to deal it, you spin all these stories as to why it is what it is. In living the code, FACTS X FEELINGS + RELEVANT = RESULTS, you cannot hide from the facts and spin your bullshit stories. When you are isolated and feel you have no one to turn to, the application of the CODE at least gives you a place to check in with yourself and deal with those FACTS. I had a choice to not put in any maintenance into myself or my relationships while living a super difficult live of isolation working away. Now that I am putting in the maintenance is it CLEAR where I need to ask for help when I do not have the proper tools to fix myself. Sit back and relax and listen to today's TALE FROM THE TRENCH.

Triggers are a magical thing. At the office there was a guy who would leave the toilet a mess and the second day I saw this it pissed me off. This had nothing to do with the shitty bowl of paper but it was a trigger for me to when I let chaos run my life and not dealing with my problems. Hey my brothers, you have heard my story of being away and how I dealt with this lifestyle of working on the road living the oilfield life. Today I had the pleasure of having an interview with Oilfield WIFE, Shelby Jean. She is an amazing women doing amazing things all while her husband is grinding away making a living in this GAME as well. She knows the life not only being married to a oilfield husband but she was also in the industry before they met. It is so nice to hear the other side because I was oblivious to the other side as my EGO did not want to deal with anything other than thinking what I was doing was right and I did not want to step into the PAIN of having to think of my wife's feelings to protect my own. The crazy part is, when you are open and vulnerable in this game of connection to yourself first, you can really accept others opinions. AMAZING to hear the other side of this lifestyle. In the oilpatch, making money is the easy part, if you have a good work ethic. In this chaos I created to make money how does that apply to my values and 90 day targets?? In being one dimensional you push in ways to expand one area. I was really good at body and business, but only at one at a time, leaving the rest to crumble to the ground. In knowing my values now and having clear targets in all areas of my life can I make space to work toward actual PEACE. There is always going to be obstacles that get in your way but if you have a clear path to take, you can breathe easier, when that path is aligned with you.
